Goodmorning everybody!
Yes, definately getting colder now, and somewhere next week they expect some frost at night. We are having more rain too at the moment, so it is not quite my kind of weather anymore LOL.
First of all have to send birthday wishes to my friend Edna!(http://missednasplace.blogspot.nl/
Happy Birthday Edna, have a fantastic day.
Jan and I had to go to 2 appointments concerning financial stuff, for the time we will be pensionados. I always get very stressed about those things in advance. All kind of things go through my mind and I know I often worry too much, but that seems to be in my system lately.
Well, the guy who handles or stuff is a very nice one and all so relaxed and he sorted things out and of course I worried far too much.
I think the guy did far more than previewed( it was a orientating conversation so no charge for it, pffff), but next year he will have to do some handlings and of course that will cost a bit of money.
We'll see about that when time comes, it has to be done and it's worth it that somebody handles it who has experience it this kind of work.
Did you know, that just a few years ago, retirement age was at 65 years, but this government decided that costs of retirement payment from the government was getting too expensive, so they decided that retirement age had to be moved ahead to finally (for now) 67 years
They made it in steps so for Jan and me it means we will not get retirement money until we have the age of 66 years and 4 months.
Younger people will have to work till 67 and they even are talking about even 68 or in time 70 years of age. That is because people are getting older and the costs will be tremendous(as govenernment tells us).
But in a lot of professions it is almost impossible to work any longer that till 65 and even that is real hard for some.
I don;t think it is a really good thing. I understand kind of the why, but for people who do very physical work you cannot expect that they will hold on working till 67/68 or even longer.
I my opinion it should stay 65 years, for retirement with possiblity to work longer if you want and are able to.
More and more parakeets appear in the garden, and also the miserable looking one "Japie"is still around. He even looks more miserable when it is raining, then the few feathers he has on his head and chest are not showing too much anymore, so he really looks like a pityful bird. I just hope with the seeds and fat we give him, he will be able to survive winter.
Today is time to do just a little bit of grocerie shopping and I must not forget to pick up my medicins. I brought the prescriptions of Jan and me earlier this week to the drugstore, so they have time to gather them. Then I will have to think of something quick and tasty for me and Jan to eat this evening and also the rest of the weekend(today is Jan's first day of volunteer work again, so I will eat alone and Jan later when he comes home).
And later today may be some time for me to design a bit at the computer. I will have to do something this weekend for sure, because I got a message of Antoinette(Dutch Sparky) that she is putting together again a World Wide Christmas Scrapbooking blogtrain, and as I joined it every time, will do so this time too
Start of blogtrain will be 1st of December, as always.
Okay, time now to show the freebie for today.
It is named "Moments to Collect".
Have a wonderful day and weekend and stay safe!

Hello and Thank you Kyra and Arlene for your wonderful work...
I love Christmas with all the bright reds and glitter. Thanks so much for sharing another lovely kit.
We too in Canada have the same thing happen with moving up the retirement payments. I think it is so unfair also but what can we do but accept it! Take care and say hi to that poor parakeet for me. Lol.
Good morning Kyra. Thank you so much for the birthday greetings. It's a lovely way to start my day. And your new kit is lovely too, thank you.
I agree with you about the age of retirement. I do believe it should have stayed at 65. If the government would stop spending our money (that we've paid into the program all these years) on other things, there would be enough money for us to retire gracefully.
I love that your parakeets are still coming by. I do feel so bad for the one who has lost a lot of its feathers. I wonder if maybe a little house (filled with hay and moss) in the garden would help this little fellow. I wish him much luck.
It's sunny here today but the temps will only get to about 53F. Then dip down into the 30's overnight. I guess it's time to start my countdown to Spring. haha. You have a wonderful day my friend. Hugs, Edna B.
Love having the kit and the clusters together. Arlene does such nice clusters with your bits and pieces. The parakeets in your garden are they the larger ones like the Quaker Parakeet?

Hello and I'm back home again after a great visit with my oldest daughter in Colorado and her 4 children. Of course one of her children is the Bridgit that lives with me now. We took 2 of the puppies with us on a 15 hour drive. Grueling is a good word but I kept the puppies occupied with lots of loving. They were only 5 weeks old and today they are 6 weeks old. My daughter wanted the one little female but then the doctors started messing with her meds and so she thought it wouldn't be fair to have a new puppy that you can't give the amount of attention she needs. A cop worker of her just bought a new house and as a single Mom with 2 girls she was a perfect fit for a new puppy. The girls just adored her and the Vet has proclaimed her as very healthy and gave her the needed puppy shots..
Thank you for the lovely kit and thank you Arlene, for very pretty clusters/frames to go with it. I was able to go out and read a few blogs and check my emails but didn't dare download anything to top. Got it going on now!
Oh did I mention I brought my puppy back home with a different name, now her name is Phebe! God Bless you and have a great weekend.
First I want to thank you and Arlene for all of your work and talent! I love all of your kits. Also I want to wish Edna a Happy Birthday!
I do hope your little parakeet friend does well this winter. I wonder if another bird has been bullying him.
In the U.S. they want to eventually raise retirement age to 70 because they say people are living longer. Well, if people have to work themselves into an early grave they sure won't be living longer! It's all about money. Very sad. Life should not have to be about work it should be about living. Who has time for living when each person has to have two jobs to survive?
I do hope you and Jan have a wonderful Autumn season.
Take care!
Love and Prayers,
Cassie
Good Monday Morning Missy! Hope your weekend went well, mine was different to say the least...cool, cloudy and finally rainy! Of course it put off the NASCAR races until way late after they dried the track enough to run, but got rain delayed again with 40 laps to go until finished, so the officials called the race finished. It rained most of the night and still at it this morning, nothing heavy or severe, just wet (makes my arthritis ache) but loving the cooler temps. Hope your poor bird makes it through the winter too, I always worry about all the feral animals outside and leave lots of space to warm up in and food to eat (yes, I know I am a sucker...LOL).
Our retirement ages have changed too, thank goodness I am already there as I don't think I could handle a full time job right now! Part time maybe, but not even sure about that!
Thanks for the lovely kit and of course thank Miss Arlene too, her work is always lovely! Glad there will be another World Christmas kit and that you will be participating....I love the anticipation and of course all the different designs!
Have a terrific week ahead. Hugs, Mat
Hello Kyra,
Thank you so very much for the beautiful kit and of course to Arlene as well for her gorgeous clusters.
I am worried about your little bird. I am wondering if he is not plucking the feathers himself. It can happen when they are under stress and this little guy might be. If it is possible, maybe you can take him inside and feed him a lot of little things like some grapes and apples, raisins and seed and talk and play with him until he is healthy. I don't know if that is an option for you, but perhaps. I hear that they like carrots and greens too.
I am not sure what is happening with our money here in the U.S. but we are having another year without a Cost of living adjustment. They say that food and gasoline has been cut to lower prices so we don't get the raise but they forget to take into account the price of rent, medical, electricity etc. Today will be the Election Day for us for a new President. I will be glad when it is over.
Have a wonderful day and I do hope that the little bird will be alright especially with the cold winter days that are coming. Take care and thank you again for your beautiful kit.
