Big job done!

Goodmorning everybody!

Yesterday I spent several hours going through all the dia's I had. And boy, I don;t know how many I had in my hand, put them on a little lightscreen to check them and then keep it or throw it away. It must have been really hundreds! But I worked my way through and am left with only 6 rows of slades, that you can put into the projector!!!! After  that was done I really was feeling finished! But also relieved, that finally I have done the job. Now there are still hundreds of meters of double 8 and 8mm films to go through!!! That will take much more time. To know if you want to keep the film, you really have to watch it first.
I will wait with that some time, perhaps it will be a good thing to do, when the days are much darker and we are approaching winter.
Still, a big job is done, and oh boy, it saves already a lot of space in the closet!
As you can imagine not much else was done yesterday, I was a bit pooped out at the end, because you are sitting a bit bend  over and you really have to focus on the slades, to see what is on it. And then with a part that is easy to throw away and a lot of things you must make a decision about!

Didn;'t do much on designing yesterday, as you can guess. But I hope I will have some done during the weekend. Although I also want to spend a bit time outside, cause they are expecting rather nice weather. Tomorrow seems to be the best day, and there are several things we can do, so surprise, surprise, what will it be?
I think I am done with this post, no idea what else I can tell you LOL!
Better I take my second coffee to have a real kick, then I;ll go for some shopping I wanted to already yesterday! The cats really need some food supplies, for starters!

Oh yes, still one thing! You prabably know all the lovely blog of Minky? And she always has such wonderful gifts to share, which she posted for download there and on her other blogs. But although really a lot of people downloaded these pretty things, she received but few thank you's for it. Finally she decided that only some times she will post a free to download gift, and only for short time, but most of the time she will give the links only to followers of her blog, who would leave an email address. Then you will receive the download links by mail. I think I understand her very well. So I wanted to say to you: Go over to her blog, look around well, see the wonderful things she offers, and just click the follow button and leave her your email address. Cleaning out?

Goodmorning everybody!

Did some of the things I had in mind yesterday. So far so good LOL. It kept raining almost all day, so with no need to go out, we stayed inside. Jan is still busy cleaning out the big closet. Oh boy, it really has a lot of stuff in it!Already a lot of paperwork is searched through, and lots of it could be destroyed. That already makes a difference. Yesterday he arrived at the compartment where I have all the dia's and films and equipment for it. I don;t know where to start. I should go through all the dia's and films, but it's such a HUGE job. It will take days and days, really. Still it should be done and I am sure a great deal of them could end up in a plastic garbage sack.You keep them and keep them but never look at them anymore. May be I will start with it today, LOL, I said may be! I will just keep some of the dia's and perhaps  let them put on a cd or dvd. Not sure yet about that, but it might be nice.
Later in the afternoon I got a telephonecall from a friend. She asked if she could come over to me to use the computer for a moment. She had to type a document but she has no computer. Of course it was allright, I did the stuff for her and she was ever so grateful for it. It was just taking us may be 15 minutes. And I know she will not be standing at the door every other day with something like that, so no problem. When you can help somebody with such a little thing, why not?

Weather looks to be a bit better today, so I might go out for a moment, I have to get some catfoodm cause they are running out of it. And it is a good thing to get some fresh air.
Good news might be, LOL, that inspiration is coming back slowly. I started yesterday on a brag book pages serie, not telling you yet what is the subject, but I think they look not bad at all!! Also should start on a new kit, I am really running out of freebies. Let's see what I can come up with in the next few days.
Also some challenges are to be done, then I have some mails to do, the house is crying out to me : "Don't forget about me!!!" (bummers!), soon it will be time to do some pruning in the garden, and all that has to be squeezed into days that seem to become shorter and shorter in time!

So regarding all those plans(oh whee, plans again, will they be excecuted or not???? ROFL) I better get myself into some clothes and get moving.!

Let's continue the walk.

Goodmorning everybody!

I was lucky yesterday, no rain on my head! So I filled up the fridge and did just a few small things around the house, will have to do more today. Then I started already preparing for dinner. We had still a big left over from the other, bone ham out of the oven, yummie. So what to eat with that? I made a potatoe salad again. Cut the potatoes in really small squares( or almost squares LOL) cut up in sqaures also an apple, half a cucumber, two small onions. Bit of mayonnaise, bit of oil, few drops of balsamico vinigar, pepper and salt and I must say, this one tasted real good! And I have it easy today too, cause I have enough of it left for dinner. So I will make a hamburger to it, and we have a good meal again.
I will take you along now with our Sunday walk, we ended at the point we arrived at the culture fair. Put on your walking shoes, hahahaha, and take a look around with me.
First picture isn't so very interesting, but I put it anyway, you can get an idea how many people were around.
I tried to take a photo from a group that gave small performances about fairy tales, but couldn't get a clear shot because of the crowd.

A bit further we saw a little group of children, who played the violin. It was adorable to see, I think most of them were between 5 and 9 years old. They played a Spanish dance.

And I believe next picture is my favourite!

And walking around we had great fun looking at all the artists in there outfits and here a few shots

There also was a lot of music, so all together, with the great weather, it was a joyous bunch of people.
We took some time looking around, and ten moved on again heading for home. But we were still far away. We passed again the government buildings( where they still are talkig about a coalition for a new government, a;ready they are busy with that for 3 months! and we still don;t know how long it may take more! A few days ago they cancelled the discussions, bacuse one of the parties hadn't enough confidence in it anymore. Of another partie a few people had their doubts if they were doing the right thing, got out of their party and now suddenly all three want to go on with discussion and formation of a new cabinet! I don;t think that is a wise thing, it will probably never stick together for 4 years. I could write more about it, but we are busy with our walk and not politics, so let's move on okay?)

Opposite to them is standing the old prison, I talked about on another walk. Now you will have a better look at it, this is really an old building, it was used as prison from 1420 till in the 1800's !

A while further we sawan old coach, and you can make a little tour in it through the centre.

And I took two shots of the horses, I feel so sorry for those animals, having to stand there for hours, and may be having a walk two or three times, and do you notice? The coachman is sitting a bit in the shade, but the poor animals are standing most of the time in the sun.

We had to move on, and the last picture isn;t a very great one, but I still will show you, because in The Hague we also have a little Chinatown! It's in this street and some streets around, lots of Chinese shops and restaurants, but the funniest thing was that we saw a little kind of fish and chips shop, were there were Chinese people selling Dutch french fried potatoes, LOL!
We're at the end of the picture session, we still walked along direction home, and oh boy, was I happy to be back then! I really had a bit of sore legs. Not so strange after the walk we had the day before too! We could have taken the tram back, but brave as we were we walked home all the way( and I was sorry about that a bit!!)
Now I am curious were we will be the next time we go out. Today it isn't the weather for it. It's raining all the time, but they say it will be better on Friday again, with more sunshine, perhaps even no rain at all. Could be a good day, but I am not planning anything, because they always turn out different, my plans ROFL!

Go on another walk with me

Goodmorning everybody!

We just took the right days in the weekend to go out, cause the weather has changed now. It's cloudy and windy, and they also expectsome rainfall today and the next few days. I think it's real Dutch weather at the moment. But we will have to admit that summer almost is over, I only hope there will be a bit of nice autumn weather this month and may be next month.
As promised yesterday I will take you on another walk. Sunday we went into town, because there was a "cultural"fair taking place. Each year, at the beginning of the new cultural season, all kind of art companies, dancing schools, theatres etc. show what you can expext in the new season and it's always great to walk around there. You see people in all kind of outfits, there are little shows performed and Sunday they really had a dream of weather for it.
So we left in early afternoon and walked to town centre. About 15 minutes walk we arrived in an older street already and while Jan was looking into a window of a shop, I saw an tiny alley and walked in. And to my surprise it was a lovely courtyard, also devided into kind of little streets. I took this picture of a little shed, build by the owners of the small house opposite of it. And if you let work your imagination, and think there are candy's and cookies hanging on it, you might think it was the little house of Hansel and Gretel in the fairytale!

And walking around there I spotted this cat, who seemed to have found a perfect chilling out place.

And I made another picture the yard, and what a lovely place to sit down for a while, look around there, in almost complete silence( you couldn't hear traffic there, what a blessing!).

I could have stayed there much longer but we had to move on.
We reached town centre, and I took this picture of the tower of the "Grand Church" as it is called. It's no longer used as church, but there are all kind of expositions and concerts in it.

As we walked around it we saw a really old tram, which is only used a few times a year. You can make a trip from the centre to Scheveningen with it. Isn't that a nostalgic view or not?

Moving on, we finally reach the place where the fair took place. But I will save that for tomorrow, cause I am already a bit late today and I must go out to do some shopping and also some boring house work LOL.
Hopefully I can do the trip without rain, well, cross fingers for that, and otherwise it's no big deal either. You can dress for it, but I like it better without the wet stuff.
But first I will show you the result of another challenge I made. It's one I host and it's real fun to do it. It's the bookcover challenge. Make a front and possibly also a backcover for a book, each month I try to come up with a theme. This month theme was Halloween, or at least a kind scary book! And I have to direct you also to my friend Edna's blog, she posted her contribution and it's  AWESOME! That lady sure has a big imagination!

A new walk, pictures, challenges, wow!

Goodmorning everybody!

Do I have to tell and show you lot of things? Yes, I think you'll have to take a drink and lean back a bit. I will try to keep it as short as possible, but you know me, once started and feeling a kind of "flow", words seem to drip out easily LOL.
Let's start with Saturday.
Oh, outside it ooked real fine, blue sky, with some clouds, sun shining, not too much wind. So in the morning I first did a bit of computering, I did get a few things done. Then Jan woke up, and slowly we started to get dressed and get ready for a walk. It was such nice weather that we could do the trip to Kijkduin.
I will give you a part of the city map, so you will have an idea where that is located, because lots of people know the name of Scheveningen but that's it!

Well, first we took a little ride with the tram, to Loosduinen(it's not on the map but a bit more down at the left corner of the map) otherwise it would take too long to walk all the way.
Then we started there with the walk and I even found a road sign, for bikers that is. At that time we were already some time on our way!

We never go in striaght lines to our goal on these walks, so on the way we took a part of another "parc", also very nice to walk, and looking around you could notice by the vegetation that we were approaching the dunes!

And finally we arrived and I had my first view on the sea(for that day though).

This part of the beach is not so crowded, also not on very warm days, as it is in Scheveningen. See how lovely the weather looks? If you go to the right and keep walking you end up in Scheveningen.
Although we did not had that plan, we still wanted to go to the boulevard of Kijkduin and wedid so by walking along the water side, yeah!

It was so lovely out there, there was some wind, but just not too much, so you got a wonderful fresh feeling and sniffing up the sea air and hearing a bit the small waves of the sea made my day!

The a look at the dunes, that should keep the water away from us LOL. It's isn't a spectacular picture, but I liked the clouds on it.

So we did walk quite a while along the water and then headed towards the dunes slowly to arrive at the boulevard. Walking over the wet sand isn't hard, but heading to the dunes, you will have to plough a bit through the dry sand and that's much more intensive! And when you finally concured that you find yourself at the bottom of stairs that you will have to climb all the way up! Very discouraging LOL!

Only good thing about it that the steps aren't very high. But we managed it and arrived at the boulevard, with lots of little restaurants etc and we alked along side the, till we arrived at the square, with some carrousels for the children.

There we took the "shopping" area of the boulevard, which is very nice, all roofed, so also in winter it is even nice to be. At that time I definately needed something to drink and to sit down for a moment. So we did. I took a very tasty cappucino with wipped cream, yummie, and Jan a malt beer.
After a little while we moved on. Time to start going home. But we first walked back to Loosduinen, where there is a tram that comes near our street, Pffffff, we realy walked some miles that day.
On the way home I didn't take much more pics, but this I liked, because of the colour of the flower. It's a "rose of the dunes" (well, that's the name we give it here)

And we passed some ducks which had a feast meal of rice. And don;t ask me why, but I just love duckies!

It was a marvellous day, I so much enjoyed the walk along the beach, it was a blast!

Can you imagine that I was happy to see my couch after that loooong walk? Yeah, it was nice to sit down again. But in the evening I still did a bit of work on the computer. I made a couple of challenges and oh boy, it feels good when the ideas come popping out your brain and you can actually make them work in a layout.
I can show you one of them today, I have more but I will save something for tomorrow.

Fine, you made another walk with me, hope you liked it. Tomorrow we will go out again, because on Sunday we enjoyed a bit moreof the fantastic weather and did another walkie!

Good evening!
Yeah, it's weekend and normally I don;t post, but I wanted to be sure everybody gets the message LOL

Designing is still a bit low

Goodmorning everybody,

I don;t know what it is, perhaps the starting of the change of season, the weather changes or whatever, but designing is very low at the moment. I try every day but after a few pieces done, somehow real inspiration has gone, and I hate that! I think, I just have to let that happen for a bit more time and suddenly it will be there again, it always does, normally LOL
I did kick myself in the butt yesterday, but to my shame I have to admitt, that it didn't help very much! So result is, I've done very little in and/or around the house. But also a bit because Jan had something strange.! When he woke up yesterday morning he showed me he had a lot of blood on his face and even body, you know, those little streams of blood! First I was startled, but after quick inspection I was at ease, it wasn't something to be afraid of. During his sleep he probably had something itching on his ear, scratched it severely and he had a tiny little wound there. But you cannot imagine how much blood can come out ot that!!!!! Gosh, it just kept dripping and dripping, finally after a minute or 15 it stopped, so I took the kitchen paper off  and I could put a plaster on it .
I went into the bedroom to check on the sheets of the bed, but that wasn't so bad. Only his pillow had suffered, and just a few drops on the undersheet. Well, I cleaned the pillow and changed all the sheets etc.
I hope he didn't do the same this night, once is enough LOL.!
Such a small thing happening can change your whole dayrythm, stupid but true.
But I tried out a new recipe for dinner. I bought some fennel and found a nice recipe for it. And I must say it tasted not bad at all. The fenneltubers weren't that big so I prepared the recipe for the two of us, but it also could do for four.
Take two fennel tubers
some salt and pepper
2 pieces of garlic, pressed,
4 soup spoons of parsil
2-3 tomatoes, skinned, take out the seeds and chopp into little squares
1 teaspoon of thyme
about 5 teaspoons of grated cheese
5 soupspoons of bread cumps

Heat the oven at 225 C. Take of the fennel the outer 4 leaves and cook them in water till they are almost ready to eat. The rest of the fennel you chopp up in very small swuares, fry them together with the garlic in a pan with a bit of oil. Also put in two spoons of parsil and the chopped tomatoes and season it with a bit of salt and pepper(I also put in some chopped mushrooms , just a few, they were left overs from the other day). Then you fill the leaves with the mix and lay them in an ovendish.(if they don;t stand nicely, cut a little bit of the leaves)
Then mix the rest of the parsil with the thyme, grated cheese ann breadcrums, season also with a bit of pepper and salt. This mix you put over the filled leaves, add a few drops of oil and put the dish with the leaves into the oven for about 20 minutes.

Well, something to try out for you, perhaps?

Okay, now today there are really a few things to do, all not taking too much time but necessary. If I do it all, I can be at ease tomorrow and perhaps weather will be nice enough to take a walk. At least they predicted a bit more sunshine and almost no, or even not at all rain.
