Santa payed me a visit!!!

Goodmorning everybody!

What a busy days I had this week, but I am happy with it.
Wednesday afternoon I went to that "further away"supermarket, and came back with a full shopping car, and all is nicely put away in the freezer, all in smaller packages, so it will be easy to use.
Jan went to the market that day too and came back with some mandarines, bananas and some veggies.
I still have to prepare those veggies for the freezer, I think it will be for today.

Yesterday Jan went to his specialist to hear about all the results of tests done. She was moderately satisfied, but still has not a clue, why he still retains too much fluid, although it is not in his legs anymore, only his belly, although a bit less than when it started. He looses a bit weight, but not because of the fluid disappearing, it's "normal"weioght loss, but she doesn;t like that either. Still no idea how come. It isn;t because he doesn;t eat, he eats as normal, so dilemma too. LOL.
And she has no explanation yet for him feeling so tired. Now she took another blood sample, wants to check it on other values and also wants to contact a hospital in another town, and it might be Jan has to go there for some tests. It's not too far away, just about 20 minutes by train.
One thing is for sure: his specialist isn;t giving in easily and wants to figure out what is the cause.
Well, we just have to be a little longer patient, and hopefully he soon will feel good enough again to go to work.

But....also nice things occure!!! Yesterday Santa delivered a box filled with all kind of lovely presents!. Because Santa is very busy, he couldn;t wrap all the presents, but who cares?????
All the lovely things are now under ou Christmas tree and it looks so cosy and complete.
Still, Santa loves a little joke too, he did wrap one present, just for Jan. LOL!
It brought a big smile to his face and he promised not to open it until Christmasday!
I already sent my Santa a mail with big thanks, but want to do it here once more.
Thanks you Santa, for your lovely gifts! Even our cat received a Christmas present.
It made our day!!!!!
I will make a picture of it and post it on Monday.

As usual there are still some household things to be done, but I will do it slowly, and got all done hopefully by the end of next week, LOL. Yes, all has to to be done with a few days before Christmas, at least as much as possible. I am already looking forward to Christmas Eve and day, there are a few things on tv that we like to see. I think that most of the time we will be watching Germa television, because there they have some wonderful Christmas shows, all with Christmas carrols and other nice music, and on Dutch tv there will be a couple of real nice detectives too, so our days will be filled, I am sure. I just love to hear Christmas music, it makes the holiday complete.

Time to skip to the freebie, no more bla bla for now.
Are you still in need of some Christmas kits? Well, I have another one for you and lots more to come, grin!

This one is named "Santa is Smiling"( and he did to us, sending us the Christmas presents!), and you will love the clusters and page border Arlene made with it.
Have a wonderful day and weekend!

All plans work out yeah!

Goodmorning everybody!

I am rather pleased with myself LOL. Just kidding, but really, I did the last couple of days a lot of things I had on the 'to-do"list.
Went to the post to send away Christmas presents, did write the Christmascards and on the post too.
Did go to the hairdresser, did go to the bank(they are in two opposite directions), did do some shopping, did do the ironing.
Yesterday Jan went for the appointment for result of the heart function. Well, his heart and such is okay, so that was good news too.
Poor soul now has the most trouble with his back, very annoying for him. Perhaps his doctor can take a look at it, or prescribe him some pills, so that it will go away.
Yes, tomorrow he has appointment with his regular specialist, for check up.
So far so good again.

Yummi, I made cannelloni yesterday! I didn;t make the tubes myself, I bought them ready to use, but the stuffing for it I made myself.
It's rather easy  to make, but oh they were good! Even Jan, who isn;t a real pasta eater, liked them.
So I have an easy day today, because I made enough for two days

If it stays dry today, may be Jan will go to the market(he has to work on condition again), and that would be nice, because I need a few things from there.
And if I feel up to it I might take the tram to the other supermarket, to get some things already for Christmas and other things just because we need them and they are lots cheaper there.
But I am not sure yet, depends on the weather, looks a bit tricky at the moment, still some sun shining but dark, grey clouds coming our way too, filled with rain or may be even hail. Yak.

That's about all folks! Not much, but believe me, I was busy, and that is a good thing.
Lol, Jan and I have picked up teatime. Suddenly Jan came into the room with a tray with teapot, teaglasses and such. And now almost every afternoon we take our cup of tea with a biscuit. Must say it's nice and as I still have lots of tea, all different spiced, we can go on for months.

Well, it's freebie time now.
I have a Christmaskit in some other color pallet than perhaps usual. With also clusters from Arlene(made 2 previews, to give them a bit justice, they are beautiful!), kit is named "Christmas is Harmony".
Wishing you a terrific day.

Christmas is in my home!

Goodmorning everybody!

O whee, we did work hard, past Friday and Saturday! Completely pooped out after it, but the result is great! Yeah, we did all the Christmas decorating.
Friday I wanted to go to the post office, but the weather was soooo bad, thaat I will do that today.
It will still be in time.
Now look how cosy our room is. It´s a pity, it never comes out really good on a picture, but still you get an idea how it looks. Imagine it a little bit darker, but with all around sparkling lights that somewhere have a refelction.
This bear I bought this summer for only 2 euro! Isn´t he looking great? And you even can see my little corner with my computer, there I make all the stuff.
And here look at the back of our room. Hey, my washed curtains even sparkle LOL!
And Edna, you should recognize the hat of the middle bear!! It´s the one you sent me last year ROFL! And if you look well you see on the mantlepiece your Christmascard with Pogo!!

Boy, oh boy, it´s always so much work, although it might not always look like it when it´s done. But it´s so satisfying when it´s all done and you sit on the couch and look around.

That was about all we did this weekend, although on Saturday I went out for a moment. Friday the weather wasn+t nice at all and yesterday we were really happy Jan didn+t have to work, cause there was a hard and cold wind blowing, plus showers of rain, mixed with hail and wet snow, aweful!
Today it looks to be a bit better, so I must go to the post office to send away a package and get me stamps for my cards, that should be posted tomorrow. Then also have to get a bill at the bank, and then I must do some ironing because the pile is getting to high LOL! And another loaded washing machine is waiting, so more than enough to do. Could have done some of it yesterday, but decided it was better to take a day of doing nothing and it was good!
Finally made an appointment at the hairdresser for tomorrow, yippee, then also tomorrow Jan has to go to the doctor for all the results of the hearttest, and further on this week other things to do too!

Without further delay I will post now your freebie, still in Christmas style, but a bit different. I´ve made a little photo album book from the `Stylish Christmas`kit, hopefully you can use that.
And from Arlene I will ost some gorgeous clusters, she made with several of my Christmaskits.
I am sure you can use them somewhere in a layout! Some of the kits are still to be posted!
Well, have a nice day and don+t get too stressed to get everything ready for Christmas LOL!

It's a white, white world!

Goodmorning everybody!

Jan went to his heart function test yesterday, which was a extended ECG stuff. Good for him, that it wasn;t a bike test! He still has to go back for detailed result in a few days, but first glance at it told, that his heart at least was working good.
Well, another thing to be moderately enthusiastic about.
And, since yesterday evening, he has much less trouble from his back. It may have been a cold or so on a muscle there. Whatever, I am glad it is almost over, I want him to move and sit around with caution still, but let's hope that in a day or two, it will be gone completely.

And what did I see when I woke up this morning???? It is snowing, oh my!
We don;t have bunches, it is just a thin cover, but it's there. Looks nice, yes, but I hope it will be gone quickly too!

Yesterday, when Jan was at the hospital, I kicked myself in the butt and did the washing of the long curtains at the back. You don;t want to know the color of the water, yak! Then I could hang them out in the garden, to get a bit dry, in the mean time I did the windows, and got all the Christmas boxes off the closets. Yeah, after that Kyra was a happy girl!

So no difficult guess to know what we will be doing today! Putting up the Christmas tree, the manger, and all the other things. It may take another day to be completely finished.
This told, I will finish this post, no long rambling about memories today, LOL.

For today I will post another Christmas kit, then for Monday I am still making my choice, that could be a "general"kit, or a kind of special Christmas thing. We'll see what it will be then!
Here you have "Christmas Cheer", with Arlene's clusters, who does every time a fabulous job!
Have a fantastic weekend

I did accomplish a few things, yeah!

Goodmorning everybody!

I feel quite good about myself. Monday I did wash the front curtains and did the window too!
Then I wrapped some presents that I have to post, so far so good.
Yesterday wasn;t such nice weather but I had to go out anyway. Rainy, windy, not my kind of stuff. But... found the last presents and today I will wrap them and seal the box and such, and tomorrow I can send it. Should be more than in time on it's destination!
Then I should write a few Christmascards. And I should try to get myself to the ironing a bit LOL.
Poor Jan now has a bad back. There's a muscle that doesn;t coorporate,so it's hurting, mostly when getting up from the couch and sitting down. |When finally sitting, it is almost okay.
Hmmmm, stubborn type as he is, he wants to do nothing about it(yet). We'll see how long it lasts. Perhaps one day he gets sooooo annoyed with it that he will go to the housedoctor or even his specialist.
The big issue, his fluid, is going a tiny little bit better, I guess, but still not going quickly.
Tomorrow he will have his heart function test( ha, will be nice with his back trouble, I guess LOL).
Then next week the result and we will know perhaps a bit more.

Today is the big day for the children here. It's Sinterklaas! I bet a lot of young children are all nervous and full of expectation to see what Sinterklaas will give them as present(s).
However it's a pity that somehow over the years the real intention of the holiday has disappeared.
Well, if you have money enough it's not a problem to buy presents(in the name of Sinterklaas of course!), but if you have a low budget, it isn;t that easy. Of course if you look well you can find nice things for very little money, but don;t you find it a bit overdone to buy Ipods, laptops, computergames, board games that cost 40€ or more, clothing from big, expensive brands etc. for the kids? And not one bigger or expensive presnets but several? I know, we all want our children to have a nice day, we like to buy them great things, but the real thing about the holiday was to be with family and or friends, the excitement of waiting for the knock on the door or loud ringing of the doorbell, then finding a big basket with all kind of presents in it, and it wasn;t really important that they were expensive, just the fact that they were there and you could unwrap several and be amazed that Sinterklaas knew so well what to give you, together with one or more rhymes attached to it(yeah, that's done on this holiday and I loved that!), the fun of the rhymes, being together having a great time, that was the thing!
It has become too commercial, just like Christmas too.
Yeah I am old fashioned in this I know. But I remember well the days I was real young and had a great time at Sinterklaas. My parents "played"along with it, they warned us to be good children, otherwise Sinterklaas and Black Peter might not come along, but they never overdone it, so you were a bit frightened, but just enough. And how happy we were when we found our shoe standing at the chimney in the room, or close to a door or window i the morning with a little candy in it!
But of course we filled it before we went to sleep the evening before with a carrot for the horse of Sinterklaas!
And then the day itself! From early morning we were under big tension LOL! How long that day was for us, because we knew Sinterklaas would come after dinner. And then .........after looking out of the window several times(together with a parent, holding hands!).........bang bang on the front door!
Almost reluctant to go there and see (because it was a bit spooky), finally going there with an older brother or sister, or grandparent or mama and finding a big basket, all filled with packages!
And never wondering about the fact that excatly at that moment your father was missing LOL!
Full of excitement calling for him: "Daddy, daddy, where are you? Come quick and look what Sinterklaas has brought us!". Then your father came running into the room, saying he just came from the toilet, or was in the kitchen washing his hands or something. And then mama sat in front of the basket and picked out a present, read the name on it and that person had to read out loud first the rhyme on it and then could unwrap the present. And only after that, the next one got a present. And so on, and what a fun we had. Specially with the rhymes, because some of them where real looooong ones, describing the whole year that passed, not only with the nice things, but also teasing!
My mother was  a real star in making them!
And the first years we didn;t have too much money, but we got e.g. coloring pencils, may be a pair of socks, or a warm scraf for the winter, or a little game, some candy, my mother always found great things! And I remember that one year I soooooo wanted a step, oh I had one but just s simple wooden one, but there were some great ones , made from metal with big tyres, but they were rather expensive, specially in the early 60's. And then one year, as last present there was brought in a big package.for me! Oh my, it was a step on big tyres! And I remember, it was dark green with speldid white tyres and even a lugage carrier on the backtyre!!!! I think, my parents saved a long time for it, and perhaps even my grandparents gave a bit of money for it, but I was so terribly happy with it and used it many years! And I was very careful with it too!
Oh, those memories, it means we are getting old LOL! But that are moments in your life you will never forget and that is a good thing.

I've bothered you enough with my memories and rambling now, so let's hop to the freebie part. And yeah, I have again  Christmaskit for you! (and more to follow).
This one is named "A Taste of Christmas". Clusters to from Arlene, made 2 previews from them to do them a bit justice.
Hey, the weather is looking brighter now, may be it will stay like this and perhaps I can do the curtains of the backroom(if iit stays dry, I can hang them out in the garden and they will not crinckle too much!)
Whatever you will do today, hope you will have a happy day!

Ready for another Christmas kit?

Goodmorning everybody!

I had a "low-busy"weeked LOL. well, of course I did some things, but not all I had in mind.
So today and this week all together I really want to get some things done. It's a pity I cannot wash the long curtains, because I cannot hand them outside to dry a bit. Raining today, not nice.
But I will do the front curtains, they are much shorter and smaller, so they can drip off in the shower. And that's a good time to wash the windows too.
And I promised myself that today I really will wrap some Christmaspresents, cause they will have to be on the mail soon!
So not much time for designing today, nor for the knitting(well, this evening a little bit).
Still have to do a lot of squares, but the pile is growing slowly. Made you a few pictures of them, hopefully you can see the pattern well enough. I like the one with the cable very much, is my 1st cable ever!
Are you all getting a bit caught by the Christmas fever? End of this week we will start the decorating.
It's always a lot of work and gives at first a messy room, but when it will be all done, it's cosy again.
Love all the little Christmas lights, they always give a room a special ambiance.

Without further delay I will post the freebie now, and it will be no surprise to you that it is a Christmaskit LOL.
It's the kit named Stylish Christmas, and that is the one I made my bloglayout with.
Together with Arlene's clusters I think you will be able to make some lovely layouts.
Just another coffee and then I will get busy!
Have a wonderful day!
