Proud of our football ladies team!

Goodafternoon everybody!

Oh boy, I am really late today. Well, I did already did some things before I started this post.
First I slept a bit later today. Then I woke up very slowly, took a coffee, then took a shower, and then first made our dinner. That is a kind of stew(well, we call it a stew) from mashed potatoes and mixed in fresh small cut endive, also mixed in a bit of crushed fried bacon. It is easy to warm up in the oven or au bain marie.
Here is a link with english translation
 https://www.holland.com/global/tourism/information/traditional-dutch-food/recipe-endive-stew.htm
Just a few additions: don't add salt to the water for boiling the potatoes, you mix first the little pieces of fried bacon, then add some salt)fried bacon is already very salty). I also add some black pepper and I do mix the mash with a bit of milk and some butter and don;t add the boiled potatoe-water.
I think the recipe will be for 4.
Most of the times I make it for two days, and even then I don;t use as much potatoes and endive(but we are small eaters!)

So when that was ready, I had to wash up the pans and such.
Then i thought it was time to have a sandwich and I had one with salted herring. Yummie, we love that fish in ths way here. Lots of people don;t like it, because it is raw fish, but layed in salt.
Then  had to read a few blogs, because during the week I didn't take the time for it. When I was at the computer I had to do other things.

Well, how about the weather here. It is on and off you could say. We had a day or a day and half with rain, quite some rain, still here at the coast we were lucky. We had a nice amount of rain, but in the middle and eastern part of our little country they had an overload!!
Yesterday it was almost dry, even some sunshine for short periods. Temperatures are not too exciting here yet(although there is quite a difference between our part and east-south part), we reach around 19-21C. Later this week it could be better, then the wind will turn more to west or even south west and that will bring higher temperatures, around 23-24 yeah!

Last week we had the final of the WC women football and that was between the USA and The Netherlands. Pity I have to say our girls didn;t win, so congratulations to the USA team! Still I am proud of our girls, thay did a great job and silver is a very good result.

Our garden is thriving I can say. Some things just grow as nuts, like some dahlia's they are soo hight this year, I think one reaches about 1 mtr easy.
Some other plants also do very well, but although our tomatoes do give sign of life(we have some starting tomatoes already) they do perform a little bit low. I don;t know if I will try them again next year. Perhaps I should try another species of tomatoe, I dont know yet, or may be I will try something completly different.

And I spent quite some time at the computer making a new kit. And I totally overdone it, LOL! So I splitted the kit in two downloads, easier to download, doesn't take so much time. I named the kit Mysteries of the Woods. Hope you lie it.
Good, now it is time to finish this post, I can do a little game of solitaire and then time will be gone already and it will be time to prepare the dinner(well, warm up the endive mash and fry two sausages) and cut some strawberries and make the cream for the desert.
Oh, we girls always have to do so much things, ROFL!!!
Have a lovely week ahead and I hope everyone will be safe, despite some nasty weather around the planet.
Till next week.

Parakeets like to destroy things LOL!

Goodafternoon everybody!

After a few tropical days here temperatures dropped a lot and now we have days of around 20/21C with some clouds and some sun, yesterday and this morning we even had a little bit of rain.
The drop of temperatures mainly comes because of the wind that blows from wrong direction, something between North/North-West sometimes just West so that doesn;t bring the higher temperatures to us.
Still if you have the sunny moments it is nice to be outside, and even sometimes wearm in our garden. Somewhere next week it might be that temperatures will rise slowly a tiny little bit, well, let's hope so and then hope it will stay steady for a much longer while.

I started the post with the parakeets, hahaha. Well, they are lovely little birds but they really do like to destroy things at times. I guess it is because they are curious and also rather smart. I have little nets hanging on the rosebow, where i put the slices of apple in. I hang them with little strings of binding for plants, you should say it is stronger stuff, but no, they manage now to unwind the little nets and they hold the nets into their claw and then pick out the applet hrough the holes. Ready and done? just let them fall unto the ground, Kyra will pick them up again and fill them and hang them, ROFL.
Last year they also destroyed gradyately the birdseed feader. Okay, it was made of plastic but still! It was meant for the seed for the little birdies but the parakeets liked it too. But this year I was smarter. It is a simple system you can put together, but this year I glwed several parts with quick drying glew and it helped till now. It still is holding and even the sparrow get some seed from it from time to time.

Last Wednesday our women football team had to play the semi-final agains Sweden and guess what??? They did win it. It was a rather difficult match, but with a wonderful goal they won it and now, today they are playing the final. And guess against who??? It will be the United States. WOW! That will be really a difficult match and I really cannot and will not predict who will win it.(But of course I hope they might win it, hey, that is normal).
We will see it happen this afternoon at 17.00 a.m. our time. No idea at what time that will be in the US(and even there you have different timezones.).
Be sure Jan and I will sit on the couch watching the match!
And even if the girls will loose the match we all will be very proud of them to have reached the final of the World Championships!

Oh, Jan had the ct scan of his heart arteries on Friday, we will see what the outcome will be. I must say they take a long time for it. He is busy with it I think already from March.
Worst of it all was we had to wake up real early in the morning. And I know what happens then the night before. Jan always is going to sleep real late at night, but with such an appointment, so early, I just know he will not of hardly sleep at all. With consequence I will not sleep really well either. So on Friday after he came back(on luck there was, he didn;t have to wait for the appointment, so he was ready in about 15 minutes) he took a cup of coffee and then went to bed to have some sleep. I also didn;t feel all to energetic , so in the afternoon I took a little nap of about half an hour and went to bed a bit earlier in the evening than usual and then had a good sleep.

Oh, I did some designing this week, can you believe it?? The kit isn;t ready yet but perhaps I will finish it this week and offer it next Sunday.
Yes, I suddenly got some inspiration and within no time had some papers done and already a few elements. No, I am not telling you the theme or colors, that will stay a mystery for you till I post it. I know, I am a bit a bad girl(writing this with a little smile on my face, haha!)

Good, time to have a little bite, and I think a cup of tea, may be even I can have that in the garden, it seems to be not so bad at the moment, we have longer moments of sun and we can do with some of the vitamine of the sunlight.
Have a wonderful week, and stay safe.

Some tropical days here.

Goodafternoon everybody!

We had some really warm days here. Temperatures were around 30-32C, further on in the country even toward 34C!
That was a little bit too much of the good. Today already temperatures are dropping to I think 27C, which is much better. during next week it will even drop more, we may only reach 21 to hopefully 23C. I think for me the best is around 25, witch not much wind and if possible from the south. But we never get the perfect, is it LOL????
Nevertheless we shouldn;t complain too much, we waited long enough to have good weather, so now it is here, we should be happy(well, if we could have some steadiness in it of around 23-25 C our body could better adapt itself, but we almost always seem to have a kind of rollercoaster weather).

I just hope summertime will last for really long if possible far into October, that will do us good and it will be good for the finance according to gasbill.
Already gas will be more expensive, due to new climat plans of the government. I know we all have to do something to keep the planet healthy but sometimes I think governments exagerate. And it should be a working together plan of all world and not just of a few countries. That just doesn;t work, I think.
No, don;t worry I will not ramble more about climat and all that should or could be done, because that is almost an endless discussion and very difficult too!

Oh, Jan and I watched some great football matches and guess what??? Our team reached the semi finals!!! They played their fist few matches not all too well, but yesterday they had to play against Italy, and the first half of the match it wasn;t yet great, but in the second half they played so much better and scored two goals. I am rather proud of our women team. Now we will have to see how they will do against Sweden. I think they make a good chance, but you never know for sure in football.
And if they should win against Sweden, they will have to play either against Great Britain(good team!) or...... the U.S.A. team(also good team)!
Match against Sweden will be on Tuesday, so we wil be watching, biting our nails, crossing our fingers etc. hahahha.

Last Friday I suddenly got a boost of energy, I don;t know from where it came, but it was there and I took advantage of it. I first did some shopping(just a few things, so I wasn;t tired from it), then I washed the curtains of the front and Jan washed the windows inside. Then Jan went for a little ride at his bike and I vacuum-cleaned the house, then mopped the wooden floor of the living room and also the kitchen floor, and then I though it was enough. Oh no, also did a little bit of work in the garden, some dead heading and even a tiny bit of pruning and then it was time to sit down!

Yesterday afternoon our girl team played their match, I pitied them and all players on the field, because it was so hot there in France, they had temperatures of around 35C, and that isn;t really pleasant when you have to perform a physical effort of that kind. So they did have some extra pauses during the match of a couple of minutes to have a drink and cool of a bit.

Coming week on Friday jan has to go to hospital for a research, it will be in another hospital then his usual, this one is on a 25minutes tram drive.
Not bad, only the nasty thing is that the appointment is very early in the morning, at 8.35, So he will have to wake up rather early poor thing.
He will have a CT scan of his coronary arteries. This they should have done before he had the appointment with the cardiologist, but okay, better now than never. I wonder when he will have an appointment to hear the result. Hopefully it will not take 2 or 3 months! It seems it all has to do with the reseach on the fluid he has from time to time in his legs and feet.
It all takes a lot of time, not that bad as long as there will be a result and solution, if it is all for nothing, it just takes time and such.
Still we should be happy that we have that medical care and they do their best.

Good, I didn;t do any designing of scrapkits, it may take some more time before I start again, although you never know with me, do you?
But I have a lovely download for you, some clusters Arlene made with the last kit and I just love the quickpage she made!
Oops, I looked outside and it seems the weather is changing already a bit. No sunshine at the moment and temperature is dropping slowly. Still it is not bad weather, it only is the sudden change we get.
Well, I think I will make myself a cup of tea, hope that the sun will come back and I can drink my tea in the garden, perhaps watching the parakeets eating their applepieces. I already hear them screaming from a large tree in a neighbours garden. They always let me know they are near, ROFL.

Have a wonderful week and stay safe!

Beautiful ships in lovely weather.

Goodafternoonj everybody!

We have here some lovely weather and it will be even much better the next few days. Could be even very warm, but....... I will not complain.
It finally will feel like summer, and that was kind of we were waiting for.

We spent quite some time watching tv, more specific the football and it will get very exciting. Our team will play next Tuesday and if they manage to beat Japan they will be in the quarter finales. Who knows what can happen then????

Oh, I am so happy I finally made an appointment for the hairdresser! There was no model what so ever in the hair, and I have now really short cut! But for summertime it is easy and practical and not so warm.
Then Jan had an appointment with the cardiologist. Hmmmmm, he wonders( and I do to) why in fact he had to come. The fluid in his legs doesnt; seem to be caused by his heart, that seems to work fine enough. May be there is something like too much tissue around the heart, she wants to make an echo to see if that's so. I wonder now why she hadn;t let done the echo before the appointment, then she would have known perhaps more. This appointment seems a bit useless to me, but who am I????
Now he has to wait again for that appointment, could take some time, seems to be very busy.
Now Monday he has check up appointment with the internis, his usual doctor.
I think, it will be quite allright.

Yes, Monday afternoon I went to my friend Heidi and daughter Séverine to bring the little present for the graduation. I bought her a voucher of a certain amount to spend on a book. I am very glad to say Séverine is still rather old fashioned when it comes to reading, She likes to have a real paper book in her hands. great girl LOL!

And yesterday we went to Scheveningen to see some of the tallships that arrived there from the race from France to Scheveningen.(That is only part of the race, they will make another one next week. Read all about it on the next link if you are interested)
https://sailtraininginternational.org/blog/ltr-2019-hague-arrival/
On the site are several links I believe to all the ships that participate and more.

We had fine weather, so we went with the tram to the harbour and walked along the ships. We also visited one( we only could visit the deck, the quarters below deck were closed), but it still was very interesting and I got even to talk for a few minutes with some of the crew.
The ship we visited was an American one(Hey Edna, you should be pleased, LOL), named the Eagle, I have several photos of it and a link to read more about the ship because it has quite a history.
https://www.uscga.edu/eagle/

First 3 are of the masts, difficult to get it on a picture, masts are about 50 mtr. high!

Here above is the steering wheel whey use all the time, has to be oprated with 6 crew memebers. And below you see the original, historic steering wheel, and a nice member of the crew.
And I have made some other pictures of some other ships.

Above small overview of some of the ships.
Replica of Spanish ship El Galeon
https://www.armada.org/en/ships/el-galeon/

Last three are of one of the Russian ships, it's a replica too from a very old frigate, The Shtandart

We did see a couple more, but I think you have a nice collection here.
It all takes some time to take a good look at and read some of the history so we even didn't manage to go along all ships harboured!
And we could have gone today again, but the walking was a litle bit too much for Jan, so we better have a nice quiet day home, in the garden, under the parasol(otherwise it is too hot in the sun).

No, I haven't a download for you today, and I don;t knw when there will be another one I don't like to make promises that I cannot keep, so just let's see what happens this week. I am not in the very creative mood at the moment, perhaps it has to do with some nice weather, I like to take advantage from it as much as I can, being outside in the garden or somewhere else. it is nice, to be able to go out, without having to put on a thick coat, and doing shopping or whatever in the rain!
So I wish you all a lovely week ahead, with also some nice weather and some moments that bring a smile to your face.
Till next week.

Rain, sunshine and football LOL

Goodafternoon everybody!

I am terrible late today, but I first had to some things and already had a later start because i slept a bit longer.
This week the weather hasnlt been very bad, but could have been better, of course.
There was quite some rain, in fact on Wednesday it kind of poured out of the sky, then the day after there were some small showers and from already Friday on there was better weather. Not very warm yet, but dry and more sunshine and already today it is nice weather and it will be much better next week, with temperatures that will reach 25C, yuppeeeeeeee!!!

It was a week fillled with things I cannot remember very well, so it wasn;t too important, hahaha. We did see a lot of football, and I am happy to say that our team is into the next round, although they will have to play one more match.
To be honest I must say that they didn;t play all too well, they will have to do better in the next round if they want to srvive and go to the quater finales.
Well, we will see that next week, So far, so good.

Oh, Heidi's daughter Séverine graduated from school and will now go to a study for logopedist. Naturally Heidi was very proud of her and she should, because Séverine had a very good list, average around 7,5 even 8( I think in other countries that would be kind of B and some C).
I will try to go to Heidi tomorrow(if she feels well enough) and give a little present to her daughter. Cannot say what it is, in case somebody reads the blog, you never know, hahha.

I've made some photos of the garden, which is getting rather full with blooms.
Here it is near the place we sit, you can see a million bell Petunia(red with a bit yellow) and in the middle of the pot comes a Dahlia.) And the clmbing rose is blooming with great enthusiasm.
This is opposite of the wall on the above photo, and you see at the back most of the tomatoe plants. They have little flowers now so I hope it will be tomatoes later.
Here you see a little rose bush, flowering well, but I am rather proud of it because it is a cutting I made from an older one and it did well.
This i took from about the middle of the garden direction our patio and you see the rose bow with our rose and in between you see some Lillies(I belive they call them Inca lillies), I got them from Heidi's garden and they do amazing this year. Made a close up of one of them beneath.
Here the close up(hey Edna, you should like them because they are orange LOL)
From middle of the garden to back, in front a very pretty rose, more to the back the pruple flowers are Pelargoniums(or often called Geranium), left over from last year, probably because we had a very mild winter. In the back you see our white Hortensia)
This also is a cutting from a real Geranium, I even didn;t remember I had it, but this is the first year it flowers and aren't they pretty flowers?

Good news for you. I had to work on it still this early afternoon but I finished it and have a new kit for you. May be you will have to do with it also next week, because I don;t think I will have enough time to get another one done.
That a bit due to watching the football, but also there are sometimes things that need attention first, before we can play around. (Boring things mostly, like household things or making phonecalls to find out something etc).
And if all goes well Jan and I want to go to Scheveningen next weekend (probably Saturday), to see some lovely ships that come here next week only.
I have two links for you so that you can see for yourself what is is all about.
and of course I will take my little camera with me, to try to take some great pictures. May be, if it isn't too crowded we even might visit a ship.

Good, I think I deserved now a little moment for me, in the garden with a cup of tea and in about hald an hour I will start preparing for dinner( like to prepare things in advance, at an easy pace).
Here is the new kit, named it Touch of a Memory. Hope you like it.
Have a wonderful week, stay safe!

A day to cherrish a memory

Goodafternoon everybody!

We had quite some different weather this week, some days rather nice, with some clouds, also sunshine and patches of rain, Friday night to Saturday we had stormy weather which lasted all Saturday through, although a bit less fierce than at night. But no harm was done to trees or flowers in our garden(in other parts of the country there was lot of damage by fallen trees).
Today the wind went away, only a little breeze is left and we have lots of sushine and temperatures between 18-21C, not bad.
All the rain that we had was enjoyed by all growing in our garden, all the plants were dancing of joy LOL.
Coming week we will have temperatures between 18-23C, some rainy moments too, but all together not really bad.

Today is a day that I think back of my mother, because it is her birthday. Gosh, it already is 27 years ago that she passed away! But at times I still miss her, and  looking at her photo at the moment I have a little tear in my eye. Goodness, I am getting soggy, sorry for that. But I had wonderful parents, of course they had their faults, they were only human, but they gave me a wonderful youth, full of love and a good start for life and we had fantastic times together. I'll never forget them and always will miss them.

Okay, on to every day life again. Jan had good news of the urologist, no stones were found anymore in his uteris  or kidney, so no need to come back.
Now he still has to go to an appointment with the heart specialist, probably to make an echo or something like it, to do with the fluid he is still retaining a bit in his feet and underleg. It isn't that bad, but may be there is a solution to let it diminish a bit.
Then he will have is usual half year check up appointment with the internist.
And hopefully then he will be ready with doctor visits for about half a year. Pfffff.

My friend Heidi is back home again from her operation. They kept her one night, just to check and keep an eye on her. But next day she could go home. I had her on the telephone and in general all was quite well with her, she only had quite some pain of her wound, but I hope that has gone now after some days of rest.
She still will have to take it easy for a week or two( at the least), let's hope the healing will go as it should, with no complications.
She also had her birthday last week, and she is just 20 years younger as I am, so therefore Jan(who has the same age as me LOL) and I call her at times our adoptive daughter, hahahaha.

Oh, I hear at the moments some parakeets making a lot of noise in the garden!
Yes they still come every day for several visits. We don't see the blackbirds anymore. I wonder where they went?
Instead we have now some sparrow coming to feed with the birdseed. I even saw a parent with a youngster that already can fly, but still needs to be fed. So sweet.

This week started the Worldchampionship Football for Women and yes, we will watch a lot of matches. Coming Tuesday will be extra exciting, because then our women team will play their first match in the tournament, opponent will be New Zealand. I hope our Dutch Lionesses will do well!

Here the selection of the team(with subsitutes etc.)
Today, just like yesterday we will have an `easy`dinner, just sadnwiches, but a kind of special ones. Yesterday I´ve made some with creamed cheese spread, on it a slice of smoked salmon and some thin slices of cucumber on it. Other one with slices of roast beef on some lettuce with slices of boiled egg, and other ones with some self made egg salad. They tasted really yummie!
But i have still so much left over that it would be a shame to throw it away)after two days some of it perhaps wouldn´t be fresh or good enough to eat), so today it is sandwiches again LOL.
And to be honest, I don;t mind because they all tasted fantastic.
We also have some strawberries with cream as dessert, so it almost like a featy meal.

I did a tiny bit of designing this week, but I do have a download for you! My wonderful creative team, named Arlene, came up with some lovely clusters made with the Springtime Summerkit. Now I think I will take a cup of tea and sit for a moment in the sun, before later this afternoon we will watch another match of football, and early evening too and at about 21.00 in the evening too! Yeah it is a bit much, but we like it, so why not?
The one in the evening by the way is something different of football, that is the fonal of the Nations League and guess who is playing it? Yeah, our manteam against Portugal. Hopefully it will be a good match, with good football and with the victory by The Netherlands, whooo!

Now I wish you all a good day and a lovely week to come, with lots of little moments of happiness.

Energy low, despite the much better weather.

Goodafternoon everybody!

yes, the weather changed for the better, although it is changing again today LOL!
But... not to complain, we have had some lovely days, much sunshine , now this weekend we had high temperatures, atround 25-28C, but that will go down next week, to around 20-23C, which isn;t bad either. Perhaps we will have here and there a rainshower(which is nice, because we don;t have to water the garden ourselves).

This has been a week without any hospital visit, quite remarkable if you look at the past time. Sstill Jan has an appointment next week at the urologist, more for result of the crushing(he still feels good) so I don;t expect a lot of stressing news.
At the same day my friend Heidi has to go to hospital to have an operation to get a new infusion needle in a vain in her chest. She had a couple already, but the last one isn;t holding good. If all goes well, she can come home the same day already, but has to take lots of rest for about 3 weeks, to let the things heal and set at place.
Well, it will not be the last one, I suppose.
Nevertheless, it always is a kind of tricky thing, but let's hope for the best again.

I had a rather quiet week, I did some things in/around the house, all the usual stuff, and that was about it. I have just about the energy to do that, and then I am happy to do not all too much after it. I also have very little inspiration for designing at the moment. Perhaps I need to address more to my willpower and just start something, but most of the time that won;t work too well, I know by experience. So I am afraid I will have to disappoint you today with no download.
I did start making something but that isn't ready yet. I do hope to have that small thing ready next week.
I feel very guilty towards all of you, believe me. But it's no use to put something together as a kit just because of it and leave you with something I am not happy with looking at it.

Next week we will start watching again some football, you know Jan and I like that sport. Now at the 7th of June starts the Word Championship of Women football. We have a team playing too, I don;t know if they will come far, of course we hope for the best, but there are a few countries that have very strong teams, like France, England, Germany, Japan. So it will be a hard battle.

Our birdies are still at times around(the youngsters, I mean). One evening last week I saw both of them takking a bath in the tiny little pool we have, LOL.
Good to see, the cats in the neighbourhood didn;t managed to catch them!

Okay, this is about all I can tell you for now. Please forgive me for not having something to download. In the evenings I don;t spend time at the computer and daytimes are filled with other things and with the nice weather I think it is good to be a bit more outside(in the garden). Hmmmm, still I should continue on the designing, it is nice to do, so I must find some more energy and inspiration for it soon.

Soon we will have to start thinking about Jan;s dental, and then also about the new oven and that stuff in the kitchen. Thinking about it already makes me feel a bit exhausted, LOL! No, it has to be done and i will be happy when it will be done.

So this was about the last thing that came into my mind for now.
I wish you all a lovely week, hopefully with good weather, I heard and saw about some of the flooding in the US, not nice if it happens to you, it is a disaster and takes a long time to recover from it!

Take care and try to be happy about little nice things that sometimes also happen, okay?

Young birds still alive!

Goodafternoon everybody!

We had about two days of real nice weather, today already is a changing day and next week we will drop temperature from ca. 20C to 15C! what a change! But then later it might creep up again. It would be so nice if we had some steady weather with nice temperatures from around 21C for a longer time you know!
May be it will happen later in June.

The crushing of Jan's left over stone has gone well, the guy even crushed at the same time a tiny little one in his kidney. Jan is feeling okay again, let's hope it will stay that way. The 4th of June he has a control appointment with the urologist to hear all about the crushing etc.
But, let's be happy. So far so good.

I showed you last week a photo of one of the young blackbirds living in or around our garden. well, both youngsters are still around they even can fly much more, still want to be fed by the parents, but that will not last for long anymore LOL. It is fun to watch those birds working so hard for their children!
So I give them some extra's like some bread and also small diced pieces of apple.
Then we have of course our parakeets around and also some great tits and a kind of small finches. Can you tell I love all the creatures that visit our garden??

During this week I didn't establish great things, but I found time to do some grocerie shopping each day at another place, and I didn;t have to rush, which is already a great thing. I found some good things for our stock for a nice discount price(I ALWAYS love discounts), also did buy some more plants for the garden(of which I must take still some photos).
Now our garden hose has a litle hole in it somewhere. We did find it and for now could close it with some tape but we could do with a new one.
But there are also other things that are needed and they should come first.
Like first Jan has to have a new denture. 75% of the price is covered by our health insurance, so we still have to pay perhaps between 300-400 euros ourselves.
Then I do need a new oven(I miss cooking in the oven, it is so handy and tasty too), at the same time we should replace the extractor above it(ours is really old and doesn;t work properly anymore). And our fridge is on for replacement too.
So there are quite some expenses to be made, and we a small amount of savings but we cannot do it all at the same time. Well, we will work it out in the months to come.
When all that will be done  surely will feel much more lighthearted, LOL.
And you know, it isn;t good to plan too much and certainly not too far ahead, because always there's something unexpected that will happen.

I also did take a little bit of time to make a new kit for you. It is just a very small one, but...... it is something.
I named it Springtime Sunshine, and  has lots of bright yellow in it.

And now I think it is time for me to make myself a cup of tea and perhaps do a bit of a solitaire game(on line) and I also have to keep an eye on a pan on the stove with some stew meat in it, it will be for this evening and is bubbling already for an hour or two(will need some more to get really tender).
We will have some potatoe salad with it that is leftover from yesterday evening and we have some strawberries for dessert. Good enough for Sunday dinner, don;t you agree?
Then tomorrow I will do some housework again, a laundry, some ironing, and some cleaning. I almost get tired by only thinking of it, hahahaha.
No, I certainly will do some of it, and if I feel energetic enough I could do it all.
We will see and cross fingers, okay?
Now I wish you all a lovely week to come.

Young life of Spring

Goodafternoon everybody!

Short weather report: on and off weather, meaning days with temps of ca. 13C, little rain, sometimes a day with sunshine and suddenly temperatures around 20C, like yesterday, but today it is again greyish, less warm and next week will be a  bit of everything, some rain, mostly cloudy, temperatures not higher than may be 16C. Not the kind of weather I want for the second half of May.

I told you we have a pair of blackbirds with a nest in our garden. Last week we found a youngster in the garden, still little, perhaps fallen out of the nest. we tried to put it back in the ivy near the nest but that didn;t work. The parents however tried to feed it on the ground, but two days later Jan found it dead in the garden. Probably it was still to tiny and the nights were rather harsh.
But.... they had another and we found that one too in the garden a few days later. Yet this one was much fatter and was also fed by both parents, as far as we could see. It was going around in our garden, finding all the time great hiding places.
Unfortunately we lost track of it so we don;t know if it is still alive. I do hope so.
It is possible, because we see the two parents searching for food in our garden(I give them bread crumbs and some tiny apple pieces) and going somewhere with it. So may be this youngster will survive. I do have a photo of it, when it was sheltering near our patio where Jan was sitting.
Isn;t it sweet????

I also have some photos of our garden, specially of two new plants I bought.
First one is a Convulves, it will grow to about 60 cms. and it should flower all summer right to october!
Then I also bought us a bush or little tree, I think it will grow more into a amsll bush, it is named an Acer palmatum, and if all is well and it survives, in autumn it will color into orange or dark red color(the leaves, of course)
Now it is still very small, I hope you can see it well on this photo:
And as last I have a photo of a Petunia" Millionbells". I love the two colors on it.

So as you would think, I spend a bit of time in the garden, and yes, a little bit I did. Very relaxing, I must say.
But there were also the usual things that took my time, of course.
On the bright side I can tell that by natural way Jan already produced two tiny little stones, so he was wondering if it still would be necessary to go to hospital tomorrow for the crushing operation. Well, I told him we are going, and we can show the doctor the stones. Still I think they will do the crushing, I don;t think all bits are already gone from the uteris.
so tomorrow we will have to get up very early in the morning, because we have to be at the appointment at 08.45!! Gosh, it will be hard to wake up at may be 07.00 already! We aren;t used to that anymore LOL!

Yesterday I did a favour to my friend Heidi. Yes, In the afternoon I went to her house to take a walk with the little dog. The family was on a day out and she asked me if I could do the walking. I did so and the dog was happy and Heidi too. I was lucky that it was nice weather yesterday, and after I did the job, I walked to the city center(about 15 minutes walk from her house) and did visit a couple of stores and aftern an hour or so I went home with the tram.
and by then I was real happy to have a seat with a cup of tea!

Oh, did any of you by chance watched the Eurovision songcontest on Saturday?
We did, because we had a singer there representing our country, Duncan Laurence(I think I already posted a link to his song last week?????)
Anyway, he did win the contest! At first it didn;t seem to happen but he got a lot of votes of the televoting public! We didn;t win that contest for a very long time, the last one was, I believe in 1975!
So congratulations to Duncan.
(If you would like to hear some of the song it will be easy to find on the net)

Well, I think I take my leave now, not without presenting to you some lovely clusters from Arlene, made with the Cozy Home kit.
Then cross your fingers for Jan, that after tomorrow Jan will be without any little stones, and that it will stay that way too. (He will have his control appointment in two weeks time, then we will know more).
I wish everybody a very good week, with some real nice weather!

My creativity is far away at the moment!

Goodafternoon everybody!

We have not really bad weather, although it is still too cool for the time of year.
Nevertheless we can sit in the garden at moments, because the sun is shining and doing its best! It is the wind that makes it colder.
But later this week temps will rise slowly but almost sure to around 17-18C, which is already a lot better. Wind is changing from direction, which is a good thing too.

How is it with Jan? Well, he has at least no painful cramps anymore, (as far as I know!), and he had to go to the urologist on Thursday. Unlucky there was no possibility for an appointment in "our"hospital, which is easy to reach with the tram and also near. He had to go to another hospital which is about half an hour ride with the tram. He didn;t like it , but hey, there was no other option.
They were so nice to plan taking a photo of the belly and so before the doctor's appointment, all in the same hospital.
And it came out that a little stone is still sitting in the uteris, and not coming out by natural way, so on the 20th of May Jan will have to go to hospital where they will crush the stone and then the crushed material will have to leave the body by natural way.
Hopefully it will go quick and after a little while all will be gone.
First however he will have to make a heart echo tomorrow, that because of the fluid he is retaining in his under legs. It isn;t that much but also not the way it should be.
Alltogether he isn;t having the best of time at the moment. I am already glad he hasn't the pains now, and all things that you do at the WC are going rather okay, so that is something good.

With all this going on I am not feeling very creative at the moment. I should do some designing, I guess, but nothing is coming out of my hands at the moment.
So I am very sorry to have to say to you that i don;t have a download for you today. This didn;t happen very often I think in the past years, anyway not for too long. And I do hope to have something ready for you next week, we'll see how things go. I do feel kind of guilty, you know. I have some lack of energy and if I have some I need to spend it on the daily stuff, like some grocerie shopping and a bit of caring for the house like dusting or cleaning or vacuum cleaning, well, all that.

But we do have lots of pleasure from our new tv. It is such a diffence with the old one! And how fantastic is it not having to worry about turning the tv on and out anymore(because we didn;t know if we could turn the old one on LOL).

It still is nice weather at the moment so I think I will have a moment in the garden with a cup of tea. And of course later I will make our dinner, I will make self made french fries(yummie), with chicken satay and some salad with cherry tomatoes, cucumber, salad and some apple.

Hopefully we will have a week without any stressing events, no sudden health issues for Jan especially.
If all goes as it should we might still have a good summer to come, ROFL.
Stay safe and take care of yourselves.

We had quite a week!

Goodafternoon everybody!

Weather report: not all too good weather, although there is some sunshine every now and then. But the temperatures aren;t great, just may be 10C-12C.
Could be that later next week we will have again some rise in temperature, to around 15C.
Not yet something to take a hoorray jump in the air, but already better than noww.

Gosh we had quite a week! The week started rather well, Jan feeling already much better, but somewhere Tuesday evening he started to have some trouble in the tummy again, again with some painful cramps and so (but no obstipation, like the other time). It hold on the next day so I didn;t hesitate too long and called for the doctor the next morning. It was a pity that our doctor was on a week;s holiday so we got the "replacement"doctor(seemed to be the same doctor of my friend Heidi and she told me he was a very good one, some luck you do need to have).
doctor came Thursday afternoon, examined Jan and said that we should call him right next morning if situation wasn;t any better. It wasn;t so I had to go over to his office to get a letter for first aid at the hospital.
We went there and Jan was scanned etc. and after being there from around 10.30 morning to 15.00 afternoon we heard that there wasn;t a twisting in the intestines or something else there, which already was a relief.
Then came the urologist and told us that Jan had two tiny little stones in the ureter causing that pain etc.
She gave him some medication for it to widen the ureter and hopefully the stones would comes out "naturally". He also got some pain medication in case the pain was too much. He will have an appointment next week for a new scan to look if the stones have gone and also an appointment for the urologist.
He also has to go to hospital a day earlier to give a bloodsample.
All together not the best of weeks, you can imagine.!
On top of it all out tv died out. Well, almost. If we wanted to switch it on it wouldn't do that, we had to wait for an hour or so to try again and if we were lucky we would have again image on tv.
This happened a bit too early in the year to be honest, we knew our tv was a very old one, but hoped it would hold on for a few months more.
Well, it didn;t, I think it was a case of Murphy's law here.
So we decided to buy us a new one. we planned that for Saturday.
I already saw it would be very hard for Jan to go to the shop, so I asked help from a friend, asking if he could drive us to the shop and back and help us if necessary with carrying the tv. It was no problem.
On Saturday morning he came but Jan felt so awefull, that I went alone with our friend. He suggested to go to a shop where he often goes for a tv or kitchen stuff like an oven or so and he was very pleased about the queality and specially about their service. It was very close to our house, so of course we went there.
I found a good tv, may be a little over bidget but still not expensive, really.
But now we had to get it home and install it. Here comes the fantastic bit.
Our friend told the owner of the shop he advised me coming there because of their great service and he asked if there would be a possibility that the tv was delivered at my home and still that very day!!!
And guess what??? They did so!! So I payed the tv, we went home, had a cup of coffee(Jan also was up again, still not well, but a little better). We didn;t see that friend for a long time, so we had a nice catch up chat.
At 3 in the afternoon two men came to deliver the tv and installed it completely with new cables etc. and installed the programms and so on.
All done in about half an hour I guess. It were very nice guys and patient and they explained all very well too.
I gave them a cup of coffee and afterwards a little tip, because I was soooooo
happy about that whole thing, and having the tv home at the same day, that was amazing!
Oh boy, that new tv is so much better than the old one. This one has the new screen of course(is it LED???) and the screen itself is a bit larger than the old one and real clear, and good speakers in it, so we are happy with that at least.
Now we will have to wait and see what happens next week. Jan is feeling somewhat better, it differs a bit every hour. I am already glad if the stool is going more or less good, we don;t want another obstipation, do we?
He still has moment of sudden cramps and they hurt quite a lot. Lucky they hold on only for a few seconds, still it isn;t nice. I feel so sorry for him and also aweful because I cannot help him.
We njust have to adjust a bit our food for the next few days, better to try to eat some light digestive food.

Despite of it all I had a few moments I could finish a new kit for you. I would have loved to make more, but  don't have the quiet feel in my system that I need for that. Probably you will understand what I mean.
Still I am happy I can offer you a new kit, named it Cozy Home.
Okay, that is all for now, hoefully next week there will be more happy news.
Take care of yourselves and your loved ones!

Quiet week, including our Koningsdag

Goodafternoon everybody.

Weather here is a bit on and off you could say. last week with Easter we had terrific weather, last few days it was much less and colder again.

we had a quiet week, all together, which was a good thing. I caught up a lot of sleep, and all went well with Jan, so that was already good.
He now has to work again on his condition, that will be a slow job I guess, but never mind, as long as he can take little walks and can do some lighter jobs in the garden I am already happy.

Yesterday we had our yearly Koningsdag, the celebration of the birthday of our King Willem-alexander. Each year the family visits another town and it is always a fantastic thing.
Our princesses are growing, of course and the eldest, princess Amalia  has now 16 years. The second, princess Alexia 14 and the youngest princess Ariane 12.
We watched the visit on tv, and later, when it was over, we did go out for a moment. Although the weather wasn;t that good, it was windy and every now and then a rainshower, it was good to be outside for a while.
We went to city center, to perhaps visit a fairiwhich in the end we didn;t LOL), but we also visit a little flower fair and there i bought 3 plants for the garden, so for me it already was a success, hahaha.
We did make a little tour and then decided to take a cup of coffe to get warm again.
We took that in a tiny little coffee shop, and also had each a tosti ham and cheese. It tasted great and did us some good.
Then we decided to take the tram home again, because it wasn;t that pleasant outside. For dinner we had a very easy meal. I had a soup of brown beans with smoked sausage in it and it was tasty, easy, quick and filling. What do you want more?
I have a few photo's of the Royal Family of yesterday's celebration.

Then I have tried to make some photo's of the parakeets. It is not so easy, because i don;t have a very powerful zoomlens on my camera and teh parakeets don;t let you come too near of themm. But  have a couple and will keep trying to get some better ones.

It is not much I can tell you more, only that today I don;t have a download for you, I feel terrible about it, but I just didn;t manage to finish the started kit this week.
I will have it ready for next week, so I hope you can forgive me.

I do wish you a fantastic day and week to come, hopefully with some really nice weather and not a lot of problems.
Take care of yourselves!

Beautiful weather for Easter!

Goodafternoon everybody!

Yes, we have some real beautiful days at the moment, with temps here at the coast of around 20-23C and lots of sun.
Pity that today it is a bit too windy, but hey, we shouldn;t complain for now.
It is a pity too that later this week temperature will drop considerably, something of 13-15C only. If we compare it with the weather now, it is a big difference.

Last week wasn;t a nice one. Filled with runds to the pharmacy, calls to the doctor, etc. Fron last Sunday evening on Jan had an obstipation trouble, which isn;t a nice thing to have. a few times he also threw up, although he didn;t eat anything. With his medical background I worry about those things a bit more than normal, so I called the doctor on wednesday morning and asked the assistant if the doctor could come by to check on Jan.
In the afternoon he came and after a check and some questions etc. he prescribed two tablets, that Jan should take in the evening, before going to sleep.
So I went to the pharmacy and in the evening he took the tablets and just at that moment he had to throw up so the tablets got out. Ghee, now we had to wait till next morning. I called the doctor again, explained and he came again the afternoon. He now prescribed an enema. It was one we could do ourselves. So again to the pharmacy. And in the afternoon we did the stuff and oh it started to work a little bit. Still, there was some light at the end of the tunnel.
Next morning called the doctor again to tell about the situation. He advised to do another enema that morning. and he even came over later to check, if it went better. And we were happy to say that slowly there was progress, he was happy about it too. Prescribed again the same pills from earlier that week, just in case. So I again to pharmacy.
But during the day Jan had more and more normal bowel movements(is that the right expression?), and he didn;t need to take the pills.
I am happy, that all seems to be quite normal again. He lost some weight, because for a few days he didn;t eat at all, I can imagine he didn;t feel like it.
Now we have to get him on his feet again, so to say.
You can imagine, I didn;t get much sleep for some days, and with all the running around etc. I was a little bit pooped out. perhaps even more by the feeling sorry and worrying than by other.
It is a good thing that just now we have this lovely weather, so Jan can be outside a bit, take in some sunshine etc.

What a story, isn;t it?
It took about all the time of this week, okay, I did some small things here in the house, did a bit of shopping, just the most necessary, and didn;t have much energy for anything else.

I really hope to have some nicer rambling next Sunday and that i will have a new kit for you.
I think I will sit for a little while in the garden, now that the weather is still nice.
And later hand some apple pieces in the rose arch for the parakeets.
Also some breadcrumbs for the blackbird family(they have two youngsters to feed).
For dinner I will make some lambs steak and self made french fries, possibly with a bit of salad and as dessert some strawberries with cream! Yeah, time of strawberries arrived, yummie!
Okay, I wish you a wonderful week and see you again next Sunday.
(and yes, I will check, if the post is published now LOL!)

What a stupid thing(of me or Blogger?????)

Hello everybody

I didn't check my mail for a few days and today I read a mail from my friend Edna that she missed me last week on Blogger. So I quickly checked and it c ame out that my post of last week wasn;t published, was still in the "draft".
So I published it now and hopefully it will show.
I will try to be there with a new post tomorrow.
For now have a Happy Easter!!

Lovely days are in sight!

Goodafternoon everybody!

We had some rather cold days here, not really freezing, but quite some difference with a week ago. But.... there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Next week temperatures will go up day by day and we may reach even to 20C by the end of the week. WOW! Perhaps not right in our area, but it still could be around 17 or 18C which is already fantastic. And there isn't much rain expected, which is in one way nice, but for garden and field not the best. So probably we will have to water the garden here and there, specially the things in smaller pots, because the soil dries out quickly with the sun shining on them.
Although the temperatures weren;t that great, we had quite some sunshine and already seeing that makes you feel a bit better and yes, I couldn;t resist on buying a few plants already for the garden. It is a bit early for them to be planted out already but I take the chance. I bought some Busy Lizzy and some Petunia's and they bring already such color into the garden, even if they just fill a small space for now.

It was a quiet week, oh how wonderful to be able to say that, although there was kind of shocking news from an old friend. He had his birthday last Monday and i called him to pass him our birthdaywishes. He told us that just a few days before his car was stolen! It was just a small car, but for him more than enough and he used it quite a lot. He was really a bit down by that event.
He will get a little money from the insurance, but by no way the amount for a new car. He will have to wait several weeks before he will get the money and then he will have to look around for another car.
It isn;t as much the money he will have to spend on another car, he will be able to afford that, but more the fact he hasn't his car so looses more or less his mobility. But there was some light for him. A friend hurt her shoulder, so she cannot drive for a while and she lends him her car for now. Quite a nice gesture, isn;t it?

At the moment there are the European championships Gysmastics taking place in Poland, already from Thursday on I believe and today are again some individual finals to watch. I love to see gymnastics, there are some marvelous sporters there! May be we will be able to win one medal there on the horizontal bar, with our fantastic Epke Zonderland.I must keep an eye on the tv to take a seat on the couch when he makes his exercise(cannot see the screen from where I sit at the computer).

We have some more visits again from the parakeets, they kind of disappeared almost during winter! But this morning there were four of them, anjoying the apple I hung up in little nets.
And we have a blackbird that is coming around for food and I think he has a nest very close, may be even in the ivy, but I couldn;t detect it.
and every time Jan or I have done something in the garden, specially when planting or raking the soil, it is around just after to see if it can find some juicy worms or so.

Good, I will finish now, and have some beautiful clusters for you made by Arlene, with the kit The Poet's Hiding place.
Have a fantastic week, hopefully also with some nice weather.

Gorgeous day today

Goodafternoon everybody!

yes, today we have really a gorgeous day, with temps around 17C or something like it, lots of sun, and almost no wind. Tomorrow also should be about the same and then sadly temps will go down again to 9 or 10C, brrr, quite a difference with today's weather.
So Jan is enjoying the sun for a whle in the garden, making some puzzles(Swsedish crossword) and also did some replanting of seedlings etc.

We had a quiet week again, and it is good.  am glad that jan seems to feel somewhat better, the last couple of days he went out for a walk, not for a too long time, but still, he got out again.

I keep busy with some usual stuff we all have to do in the house and in the evenings I am still knitting on a project. I think it will be a bedcover, kind of blanket to cover the duvets.
I make it of not too heavy yarn, so it will not be too heavy and even possible to wash it in the washingmachine.
But as we have a rather large bed, it takes a while to finish it. I make it in parts and later will crochet them together.

While typing here, I listen to a cd with rather old songs, and  love it LOL!
Must say that also this day music has some beautiful music in between it.
Soon there will bDownloade again the Eurovision Song contest again and I must say that The Netherlands has a really beautiful song. It is something different.
It seems he scores well with the bookmakers, but of course that is no guarantee.
I have a link for you, so if you want you can listen to it.
https://www.gids.tv/video/41996/dit-is-de-inzending-voor-het-songfestival-2019-duncan-laurence-arcade

And now it is time to post the second download of the kit of last week and then I must go into the kitchen and prepare a bit for this evening's dinner.
I want to make a potatoe salad and we will eat it with a small pork tenderloin.
So I wish you all a lovely day and week ahead.

Some Spring in the garden

Goodafternoon everybody!

We had two lovely days, with very nice temperatures, the second day we had even more sunshine, but today temperature already dropped. and somewhere next week it will even drop to again only 10C, which isn;t too much.
Nevertheless, hope is there LOL.
Around October last year, Jan planted some bulbs here and there.
In a container he planted two colors of small tulips and how wonderous nature is, they all came to flower and it is such a happy sight.
I even made a picture of it.
Aren't they lovely?

Some seedlings are also staying already outside, but still in their small greenhouses, specially at night. Several things do it well, other ones we will have to wait and see.  but it always is a new adventure and partly happy surprise.

This week Jan had an appointment with the cardiologist, to check on his heart function. Nothing disturbing, but it might be that in a way his heart isn;t pumping hard enough or may be there is a small thing not working 100%, and that might cause the surplus of fluid at times(well, most of the time) in his underlegs. Possible he will get another appointment next week or so, to do another test.
Of course it isn;t the best thing of spending your time, but on the other hand I and glad his doctor insists on checking all possibilities. One thing we know, it hasn;t to do with his kidneys, and that already is a big relief.
For the rest we will wait and hear what will come.
I so hope that we will have quickly some nicer weather, so that he we go out more easily, because moving around a bit more will not hurt. It would be better for him and he has to work somehow on his condition.
He already is doing some more in the garden, so that is a good thing.
Just have to watch over him that he doesn;t exaggerate, must take care of his back and such. Hmmmm, it is difficult to do the watching over, often looks like I don;t want him to do anything, or that I think he cannot do it, but that isn;t the case. I just don;t want him to overdo it, you know? As partners we always walk on that thin line, don;t we? ROFL.

The week through it was rather quiet, and I was happy about it. best news was that I received back the papers from the taxstuff from my accountant. All is already at the taxoffice, so that thing we can forget about for the rest of the year. I always feel happy when I send the papers to him, but i even feel better when I receive the copy of the filled in forms.

Further on this week I finished a new kit and that one will be on for download today, although not all the kit, i made it into two files, part 1 and part 2.
It also gives me some more time to start a new one, because the designing isn;t going so speedy nowadays.
I named the kit The Poet's Hiding Place, and I hope you will like it when you will have both parts.

I wish you all a wonderful weekend and week, take care of yourselves and try to keep safe.

We had a shock this week!

Goodafternoon everybody!

Just a bit more than a week ago we had the terrible news from New Zealand, and just a few days after that on a plain Monday morning we had a shooting in the middle of our little country!
Some completely deranged person thought it might be fun to shoot around in a tram in the city of Utrecht. 3 people died and 5 were injured, of them 3 very serious.
Why??? That is the big question. How could it happen, that a criminal person was free at the time, although he was arrested two weeks before for a rape that took place in 2017. Apparantly because he agreed to cooperate in a personality test, he was released from custody. Hmmmmm?????
Some say it is a terrorist action, some say it might be just an instable person, may be it is a mix of the two.
whatever the motive is, it is completely crazy, that things like this can take place.
Big compliment however to the police, special forces, ambulance people, who did a great job, and it is fantastic that they arrested the man that same day.
Now we will just have to wait till perhaps we hear more about all of it.
whatever the utcome will be, it will never bring back the dead.

It is hard to go on with another subject, because the news above makes you really sad.
But how strange and hard it might be, life is still going on and it has to.
I think it is the best answer to actions, terrorist or other(although I think you shuld call them ALL terrorist actions ) carry on with life and showing that we will not surrender and give in to brutalism and terror and intimidation.

Start of this week Jan didn;t feel very well. He had some trouble of his tummy, did sleep a lot, I think he had perhaps some kind of flu. Last couple of days it is going better with him, he has almost "normal"visits to the little chamber(first few days almost  nothing came out if you know what I mean) hahaha. He still isn't up to 100% but slowly he will. According to the fluid in his legs he had to bring some urine samples, (well, i did bring it to hospital, he was in no condition to go by himself) and now his doctor will phone him again this Monday, hopefully with some result or action. We'll see.

All in all it was more or less a quiet week. Yesterday I had to go to my friend Heidi's house to give the doggie a walk in the early afternoon.
Of course he was happy to see me, we had a good walk, I think more than half an hour, and then I made a detour going home because I wanted to buy us something for dinner in a special shop. It were just meatballs, but they are so tasty there, yummie! Yeah, i know  can make them myself, but they just aren;t the same. So, as an exception, we had some more expensive meatballs, hahah.
And yes, they tasted really yummie on a white bun.

Oh I had a good buy this week in our supermarket, they had a special, special offer for a bread box, normally they were € 20,00 and now just for €5,00!  thought i could do that and bought one in red.
I know, it isn;t a hightlight in one's life, but I am happy with it and it just fits in the kitchen cupboard.

I have today for you some clusters from Arlene, made with the You, the World and nothing else kit. As usual they are lovely.
And if you shouldn;t have enough, my friend Edna also made a quick page with this kit.
This evening we will watch a soccer game, because the qualifications for the European Championship soccer 2020 have started. Our tem already played one game and they won with 4-0 from Belarus. Today they will have to play against Germany, hopefully it will go well again.
Good, time to finish now and have a cup of tea, I think.
Wishing you all a wonderful week.

There will be some weather change for the better

Goodafternoon everybody!

I have to say just a few words about the disaster that happened In Christchurch, New Zealand. It is something beyond understanding. You can have different opinions, or believes, but to use just raw violence isn;t the way of dealing with it. And as long as people cannot get that into their mind, the world will never be the wonderful peacefull place it should be.
My sincere condolances and sympathie to all people of Christchurch and New Zealand.

Yes, we had some rather ugly days this last week with the weather. Most of it was caused by the strong wind, it made it feel a lot colder than it actually was. Then there were rainshowers(and some fierce ones too)added to it, so all together not my kind of weather. But there is hope appearing LOL.
Later this week the wind will slow down, may be 3-4 beaufort, so that isn;t too bad, and temps will go up again into double digits, may be even to 13-14C and with lots more sunshine too.
Yesterday it was the 16th of March and it meant that Jan and I were together for ...........27 years! So many years already, and they went by so fast.
It means that this year we will be married also already for 12 years. Gosh, now i really start fo feel old, ROFL.

It was a quiet week, as we have often these days, hahaha, but I still sometimes was short in time, how is that possible? Well, first of all I must admit I have slow starts in the morning, I wake up, have the morning stroll through the house, opening curtains, preparing the coffepot for later, preparing Jan's medisins for the day, making a cup of tea and then sit down to have that tea and look at the news on tv. Then a bit later I take something to eat, so that I can take my stomach pill, then there is a serie on German tv I just love to see, so you see, almost all morning is gone with little things. In a way i hate myself for it not being more active earlier in the day, on the other hand it is also nice to be able to take it that easy.
After seeing my serie(it isn;t a matter of life or death when  miss it a day, it isn'tas bad as that either) i get more active. I get dressed, put out of the freezer the meat I need for dinner, then go out for some shopping, coming home I sometimes take a cup of tea first, or if not right away start preparing for dinner, so that around dinner time I only have to put the gaz on and such.
After that I usually do some little job of cleaning, or ironing or whatever comes up or is necessary at the time, like making some phonecalls.
A day is gone quite quickly, if all goes a bit smooth, I might have an hour or so to sit at the computer for some designing, or sometimes just read the mail, and do a little game( at the moment I do a lot of Hidden object games on line).

Oh, I had a visit with my friend Heidi. It wasn;t just for having a chat and see eachother again, I also had to try out her spare keys of her house, because once I needed to use them, one of them didn't seem to work.
And this Saturday she asked us to take care of the dog in the early afternoon, give him a little walk so he can do his poopoo and such. They are away the whole day, so the poor little one cannot stay in the whole day, hey?
Well,  got at her house(she lives in a flat with entree doors protected, you can only get in with a key, and then you need another key for her appartement).
I tried the keys, no luck. Heidi came downstairs, tried them and the door opened. I tried again, no luck again. I got rather frustrated. I tried again and suddenly there was the miracle, the key got grip and opened the door!
I tried for security several times, it worked. The key has some problem to find the right "grip", but it works. Let's cross fingers it still will work on Saturday.
There's always a possibility to get into the hall, just wait for somebody to go in or out and explain what I am doing there and most of the time that isn;t a problem. Some of the residents already know me by face.
After this key-control business I had a cup of tea with Heidi and we could have a little chat. It was nice, because we didn;t do that for a rather long time. we do speak over the phone but it just isn;t the same.
I am glad to be able to say she is doing okay with her health at the moment. Although she still is far too busy, but that will not change from one day to the other with her LOL.

This is about all I can tell you. When I will be finished with this post, I think I will be sewing a bit(by hand, I don;t have a sewing machine, it is handy of course, but I do so little of sewing that I don;t see the need. And the things I do by myself are easy to do by hand), make a new seam in a pair of trousers to shorten it. And I might spend some time at the computer too.
Dinner today is easy, I have a left over potatoe salad from yesterday and I make a little steak with it. Quick. easy and yummie too!
I have a new kit for you, I named it You, the World and nothing else.
Have a wonderful week and see you next time.

Where has the real nice weather gone to??

Goodafternoon everybody!

Yeah, the weather really changed here, last week we did have some sunshine and then it looked nice, but going outside it didn;t feel all too great. Most of it had to do with the hard wind that blew from time to time. They are expecting today too real hard to stormy winds. Brrrr, don;t like that at all.
Then there are rainshowers in between, temperatures are around 7-10C, not bad but not the best for sure.

Jan went to his doctor in hospital for the normal half year appointment check.
All that has to do with his liver and stomach looked good, no fluid in his belly, so far so good, But he has a bit too much fluid in his underlegs and feet at times.
Doctor has no idea yet from where it comes, so she wanted to consult some collegues about that, could be something coming from the kidneys, or may be his heart. Not that we should be in panic, but she of course wants to know the ins and outs and wants to diminish the fluid.
Jan will have a phonecaal on Monday and then he probably will hear more about it.
I will try to cut on the salt in the food again some more. I do try to use as less as possible(and when I do I use special salt), but along the way we tend to think less about it. So not too much salt in the food for dinner etc. and also on the things we take as "extra"sometimes in the evening. You know, just for the yummie, like some dried sausage, or some chips(not good for Jan at all, although he always takes very little of that  must say), or other things that aren;t all too good for the saltlevel.

What else happened here this week? All was kind of very quiet, I must say and I am glad for that. I did find a bit of time to design on the computer, did some things in the house(I should do some more to be honest, but I am lazy, or perhaps it isn;t exactly lazy but more lack of enough energy to do it for a longer time, I can manage scrubbing and such things for perhaps 15 minutes, may be up to half an hour, but then I really need to sit down for a moment to kind of recover. I hate it from myself but it I don;t do that, I will pay the price the next day or days, I know it). well, I am hoping for a quick return of better weather, because that helps me with my energy, it really does!

So wonderful one of my more favourite programs is back again on the BBC, Gardener's World. It started last Saturday, and it gives you new inspiration for this years gardening again. I just saw in the program a guy with his garden, he "made"all by himself. It was just a real small garden, he had two parts, one of 20x20 feet(about 6x6 mtr) and one of 20-30 feet (6x9). well, that isn;t realy much is it? But he made it into a lovely place, with lots of tropical plants in it, with large leaves and lots of flowers, just wonderful!
Oh, i was looking on the BBC website if I could find something showing this garden, but I have something better. I have his own website! So if you like to see something nice, from someone with a real passion, just take a look!

Today I have some more clusters from Arlene for you, this time made with the A Tiny Tale kit. And they are lovely as ever.
Wishing you all a wonderful and safe week, till next week!
