Beautiful weather for Easter!

Goodafternoon everybody!

Yes, we have some real beautiful days at the moment, with temps here at the coast of around 20-23C and lots of sun.
Pity that today it is a bit too windy, but hey, we shouldn;t complain for now.
It is a pity too that later this week temperature will drop considerably, something of 13-15C only. If we compare it with the weather now, it is a big difference.

Last week wasn;t a nice one. Filled with runds to the pharmacy, calls to the doctor, etc. Fron last Sunday evening on Jan had an obstipation trouble, which isn;t a nice thing to have. a few times he also threw up, although he didn;t eat anything. With his medical background I worry about those things a bit more than normal, so I called the doctor on wednesday morning and asked the assistant if the doctor could come by to check on Jan.
In the afternoon he came and after a check and some questions etc. he prescribed two tablets, that Jan should take in the evening, before going to sleep.
So I went to the pharmacy and in the evening he took the tablets and just at that moment he had to throw up so the tablets got out. Ghee, now we had to wait till next morning. I called the doctor again, explained and he came again the afternoon. He now prescribed an enema. It was one we could do ourselves. So again to the pharmacy. And in the afternoon we did the stuff and oh it started to work a little bit. Still, there was some light at the end of the tunnel.
Next morning called the doctor again to tell about the situation. He advised to do another enema that morning. and he even came over later to check, if it went better. And we were happy to say that slowly there was progress, he was happy about it too. Prescribed again the same pills from earlier that week, just in case. So I again to pharmacy.
But during the day Jan had more and more normal bowel movements(is that the right expression?), and he didn;t need to take the pills.
I am happy, that all seems to be quite normal again. He lost some weight, because for a few days he didn;t eat at all, I can imagine he didn;t feel like it.
Now we have to get him on his feet again, so to say.
You can imagine, I didn;t get much sleep for some days, and with all the running around etc. I was a little bit pooped out. perhaps even more by the feeling sorry and worrying than by other.
It is a good thing that just now we have this lovely weather, so Jan can be outside a bit, take in some sunshine etc.

What a story, isn;t it?
It took about all the time of this week, okay, I did some small things here in the house, did a bit of shopping, just the most necessary, and didn;t have much energy for anything else.

I really hope to have some nicer rambling next Sunday and that i will have a new kit for you.
I think I will sit for a little while in the garden, now that the weather is still nice.
And later hand some apple pieces in the rose arch for the parakeets.
Also some breadcrumbs for the blackbird family(they have two youngsters to feed).
For dinner I will make some lambs steak and self made french fries, possibly with a bit of salad and as dessert some strawberries with cream! Yeah, time of strawberries arrived, yummie!
Okay, I wish you a wonderful week and see you again next Sunday.
(and yes, I will check, if the post is published now LOL!)

What a stupid thing(of me or Blogger?????)

Hello everybody

I didn't check my mail for a few days and today I read a mail from my friend Edna that she missed me last week on Blogger. So I quickly checked and it c ame out that my post of last week wasn;t published, was still in the "draft".
So I published it now and hopefully it will show.
I will try to be there with a new post tomorrow.
For now have a Happy Easter!!

Lovely days are in sight!

Goodafternoon everybody!

We had some rather cold days here, not really freezing, but quite some difference with a week ago. But.... there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Next week temperatures will go up day by day and we may reach even to 20C by the end of the week. WOW! Perhaps not right in our area, but it still could be around 17 or 18C which is already fantastic. And there isn't much rain expected, which is in one way nice, but for garden and field not the best. So probably we will have to water the garden here and there, specially the things in smaller pots, because the soil dries out quickly with the sun shining on them.
Although the temperatures weren;t that great, we had quite some sunshine and already seeing that makes you feel a bit better and yes, I couldn;t resist on buying a few plants already for the garden. It is a bit early for them to be planted out already but I take the chance. I bought some Busy Lizzy and some Petunia's and they bring already such color into the garden, even if they just fill a small space for now.

It was a quiet week, oh how wonderful to be able to say that, although there was kind of shocking news from an old friend. He had his birthday last Monday and i called him to pass him our birthdaywishes. He told us that just a few days before his car was stolen! It was just a small car, but for him more than enough and he used it quite a lot. He was really a bit down by that event.
He will get a little money from the insurance, but by no way the amount for a new car. He will have to wait several weeks before he will get the money and then he will have to look around for another car.
It isn;t as much the money he will have to spend on another car, he will be able to afford that, but more the fact he hasn't his car so looses more or less his mobility. But there was some light for him. A friend hurt her shoulder, so she cannot drive for a while and she lends him her car for now. Quite a nice gesture, isn;t it?

At the moment there are the European championships Gysmastics taking place in Poland, already from Thursday on I believe and today are again some individual finals to watch. I love to see gymnastics, there are some marvelous sporters there! May be we will be able to win one medal there on the horizontal bar, with our fantastic Epke Zonderland.I must keep an eye on the tv to take a seat on the couch when he makes his exercise(cannot see the screen from where I sit at the computer).

We have some more visits again from the parakeets, they kind of disappeared almost during winter! But this morning there were four of them, anjoying the apple I hung up in little nets.
And we have a blackbird that is coming around for food and I think he has a nest very close, may be even in the ivy, but I couldn;t detect it.
and every time Jan or I have done something in the garden, specially when planting or raking the soil, it is around just after to see if it can find some juicy worms or so.

Good, I will finish now, and have some beautiful clusters for you made by Arlene, with the kit The Poet's Hiding place.
Have a fantastic week, hopefully also with some nice weather.

Gorgeous day today

Goodafternoon everybody!

yes, today we have really a gorgeous day, with temps around 17C or something like it, lots of sun, and almost no wind. Tomorrow also should be about the same and then sadly temps will go down again to 9 or 10C, brrr, quite a difference with today's weather.
So Jan is enjoying the sun for a whle in the garden, making some puzzles(Swsedish crossword) and also did some replanting of seedlings etc.

We had a quiet week again, and it is good.  am glad that jan seems to feel somewhat better, the last couple of days he went out for a walk, not for a too long time, but still, he got out again.

I keep busy with some usual stuff we all have to do in the house and in the evenings I am still knitting on a project. I think it will be a bedcover, kind of blanket to cover the duvets.
I make it of not too heavy yarn, so it will not be too heavy and even possible to wash it in the washingmachine.
But as we have a rather large bed, it takes a while to finish it. I make it in parts and later will crochet them together.

While typing here, I listen to a cd with rather old songs, and  love it LOL!
Must say that also this day music has some beautiful music in between it.
Soon there will bDownloade again the Eurovision Song contest again and I must say that The Netherlands has a really beautiful song. It is something different.
It seems he scores well with the bookmakers, but of course that is no guarantee.
I have a link for you, so if you want you can listen to it.
https://www.gids.tv/video/41996/dit-is-de-inzending-voor-het-songfestival-2019-duncan-laurence-arcade

And now it is time to post the second download of the kit of last week and then I must go into the kitchen and prepare a bit for this evening's dinner.
I want to make a potatoe salad and we will eat it with a small pork tenderloin.
So I wish you all a lovely day and week ahead.

Some Spring in the garden

Goodafternoon everybody!

We had two lovely days, with very nice temperatures, the second day we had even more sunshine, but today temperature already dropped. and somewhere next week it will even drop to again only 10C, which isn;t too much.
Nevertheless, hope is there LOL.
Around October last year, Jan planted some bulbs here and there.
In a container he planted two colors of small tulips and how wonderous nature is, they all came to flower and it is such a happy sight.
I even made a picture of it.
Aren't they lovely?

Some seedlings are also staying already outside, but still in their small greenhouses, specially at night. Several things do it well, other ones we will have to wait and see.  but it always is a new adventure and partly happy surprise.

This week Jan had an appointment with the cardiologist, to check on his heart function. Nothing disturbing, but it might be that in a way his heart isn;t pumping hard enough or may be there is a small thing not working 100%, and that might cause the surplus of fluid at times(well, most of the time) in his underlegs. Possible he will get another appointment next week or so, to do another test.
Of course it isn;t the best thing of spending your time, but on the other hand I and glad his doctor insists on checking all possibilities. One thing we know, it hasn;t to do with his kidneys, and that already is a big relief.
For the rest we will wait and hear what will come.
I so hope that we will have quickly some nicer weather, so that he we go out more easily, because moving around a bit more will not hurt. It would be better for him and he has to work somehow on his condition.
He already is doing some more in the garden, so that is a good thing.
Just have to watch over him that he doesn;t exaggerate, must take care of his back and such. Hmmmm, it is difficult to do the watching over, often looks like I don;t want him to do anything, or that I think he cannot do it, but that isn;t the case. I just don;t want him to overdo it, you know? As partners we always walk on that thin line, don;t we? ROFL.

The week through it was rather quiet, and I was happy about it. best news was that I received back the papers from the taxstuff from my accountant. All is already at the taxoffice, so that thing we can forget about for the rest of the year. I always feel happy when I send the papers to him, but i even feel better when I receive the copy of the filled in forms.

Further on this week I finished a new kit and that one will be on for download today, although not all the kit, i made it into two files, part 1 and part 2.
It also gives me some more time to start a new one, because the designing isn;t going so speedy nowadays.
I named the kit The Poet's Hiding Place, and I hope you will like it when you will have both parts.

I wish you all a wonderful weekend and week, take care of yourselves and try to keep safe.

We had a shock this week!

Goodafternoon everybody!

Just a bit more than a week ago we had the terrible news from New Zealand, and just a few days after that on a plain Monday morning we had a shooting in the middle of our little country!
Some completely deranged person thought it might be fun to shoot around in a tram in the city of Utrecht. 3 people died and 5 were injured, of them 3 very serious.
Why??? That is the big question. How could it happen, that a criminal person was free at the time, although he was arrested two weeks before for a rape that took place in 2017. Apparantly because he agreed to cooperate in a personality test, he was released from custody. Hmmmmm?????
Some say it is a terrorist action, some say it might be just an instable person, may be it is a mix of the two.
whatever the motive is, it is completely crazy, that things like this can take place.
Big compliment however to the police, special forces, ambulance people, who did a great job, and it is fantastic that they arrested the man that same day.
Now we will just have to wait till perhaps we hear more about all of it.
whatever the utcome will be, it will never bring back the dead.

It is hard to go on with another subject, because the news above makes you really sad.
But how strange and hard it might be, life is still going on and it has to.
I think it is the best answer to actions, terrorist or other(although I think you shuld call them ALL terrorist actions ) carry on with life and showing that we will not surrender and give in to brutalism and terror and intimidation.

Start of this week Jan didn;t feel very well. He had some trouble of his tummy, did sleep a lot, I think he had perhaps some kind of flu. Last couple of days it is going better with him, he has almost "normal"visits to the little chamber(first few days almost  nothing came out if you know what I mean) hahaha. He still isn't up to 100% but slowly he will. According to the fluid in his legs he had to bring some urine samples, (well, i did bring it to hospital, he was in no condition to go by himself) and now his doctor will phone him again this Monday, hopefully with some result or action. We'll see.

All in all it was more or less a quiet week. Yesterday I had to go to my friend Heidi's house to give the doggie a walk in the early afternoon.
Of course he was happy to see me, we had a good walk, I think more than half an hour, and then I made a detour going home because I wanted to buy us something for dinner in a special shop. It were just meatballs, but they are so tasty there, yummie! Yeah, i know  can make them myself, but they just aren;t the same. So, as an exception, we had some more expensive meatballs, hahah.
And yes, they tasted really yummie on a white bun.

Oh I had a good buy this week in our supermarket, they had a special, special offer for a bread box, normally they were € 20,00 and now just for €5,00!  thought i could do that and bought one in red.
I know, it isn;t a hightlight in one's life, but I am happy with it and it just fits in the kitchen cupboard.

I have today for you some clusters from Arlene, made with the You, the World and nothing else kit. As usual they are lovely.
And if you shouldn;t have enough, my friend Edna also made a quick page with this kit.
This evening we will watch a soccer game, because the qualifications for the European Championship soccer 2020 have started. Our tem already played one game and they won with 4-0 from Belarus. Today they will have to play against Germany, hopefully it will go well again.
Good, time to finish now and have a cup of tea, I think.
Wishing you all a wonderful week.

There will be some weather change for the better

Goodafternoon everybody!

I have to say just a few words about the disaster that happened In Christchurch, New Zealand. It is something beyond understanding. You can have different opinions, or believes, but to use just raw violence isn;t the way of dealing with it. And as long as people cannot get that into their mind, the world will never be the wonderful peacefull place it should be.
My sincere condolances and sympathie to all people of Christchurch and New Zealand.

Yes, we had some rather ugly days this last week with the weather. Most of it was caused by the strong wind, it made it feel a lot colder than it actually was. Then there were rainshowers(and some fierce ones too)added to it, so all together not my kind of weather. But there is hope appearing LOL.
Later this week the wind will slow down, may be 3-4 beaufort, so that isn;t too bad, and temps will go up again into double digits, may be even to 13-14C and with lots more sunshine too.
Yesterday it was the 16th of March and it meant that Jan and I were together for ...........27 years! So many years already, and they went by so fast.
It means that this year we will be married also already for 12 years. Gosh, now i really start fo feel old, ROFL.

It was a quiet week, as we have often these days, hahaha, but I still sometimes was short in time, how is that possible? Well, first of all I must admit I have slow starts in the morning, I wake up, have the morning stroll through the house, opening curtains, preparing the coffepot for later, preparing Jan's medisins for the day, making a cup of tea and then sit down to have that tea and look at the news on tv. Then a bit later I take something to eat, so that I can take my stomach pill, then there is a serie on German tv I just love to see, so you see, almost all morning is gone with little things. In a way i hate myself for it not being more active earlier in the day, on the other hand it is also nice to be able to take it that easy.
After seeing my serie(it isn;t a matter of life or death when  miss it a day, it isn'tas bad as that either) i get more active. I get dressed, put out of the freezer the meat I need for dinner, then go out for some shopping, coming home I sometimes take a cup of tea first, or if not right away start preparing for dinner, so that around dinner time I only have to put the gaz on and such.
After that I usually do some little job of cleaning, or ironing or whatever comes up or is necessary at the time, like making some phonecalls.
A day is gone quite quickly, if all goes a bit smooth, I might have an hour or so to sit at the computer for some designing, or sometimes just read the mail, and do a little game( at the moment I do a lot of Hidden object games on line).

Oh, I had a visit with my friend Heidi. It wasn;t just for having a chat and see eachother again, I also had to try out her spare keys of her house, because once I needed to use them, one of them didn't seem to work.
And this Saturday she asked us to take care of the dog in the early afternoon, give him a little walk so he can do his poopoo and such. They are away the whole day, so the poor little one cannot stay in the whole day, hey?
Well,  got at her house(she lives in a flat with entree doors protected, you can only get in with a key, and then you need another key for her appartement).
I tried the keys, no luck. Heidi came downstairs, tried them and the door opened. I tried again, no luck again. I got rather frustrated. I tried again and suddenly there was the miracle, the key got grip and opened the door!
I tried for security several times, it worked. The key has some problem to find the right "grip", but it works. Let's cross fingers it still will work on Saturday.
There's always a possibility to get into the hall, just wait for somebody to go in or out and explain what I am doing there and most of the time that isn;t a problem. Some of the residents already know me by face.
After this key-control business I had a cup of tea with Heidi and we could have a little chat. It was nice, because we didn;t do that for a rather long time. we do speak over the phone but it just isn;t the same.
I am glad to be able to say she is doing okay with her health at the moment. Although she still is far too busy, but that will not change from one day to the other with her LOL.

This is about all I can tell you. When I will be finished with this post, I think I will be sewing a bit(by hand, I don;t have a sewing machine, it is handy of course, but I do so little of sewing that I don;t see the need. And the things I do by myself are easy to do by hand), make a new seam in a pair of trousers to shorten it. And I might spend some time at the computer too.
Dinner today is easy, I have a left over potatoe salad from yesterday and I make a little steak with it. Quick. easy and yummie too!
I have a new kit for you, I named it You, the World and nothing else.
Have a wonderful week and see you next time.

Where has the real nice weather gone to??

Goodafternoon everybody!

Yeah, the weather really changed here, last week we did have some sunshine and then it looked nice, but going outside it didn;t feel all too great. Most of it had to do with the hard wind that blew from time to time. They are expecting today too real hard to stormy winds. Brrrr, don;t like that at all.
Then there are rainshowers in between, temperatures are around 7-10C, not bad but not the best for sure.

Jan went to his doctor in hospital for the normal half year appointment check.
All that has to do with his liver and stomach looked good, no fluid in his belly, so far so good, But he has a bit too much fluid in his underlegs and feet at times.
Doctor has no idea yet from where it comes, so she wanted to consult some collegues about that, could be something coming from the kidneys, or may be his heart. Not that we should be in panic, but she of course wants to know the ins and outs and wants to diminish the fluid.
Jan will have a phonecaal on Monday and then he probably will hear more about it.
I will try to cut on the salt in the food again some more. I do try to use as less as possible(and when I do I use special salt), but along the way we tend to think less about it. So not too much salt in the food for dinner etc. and also on the things we take as "extra"sometimes in the evening. You know, just for the yummie, like some dried sausage, or some chips(not good for Jan at all, although he always takes very little of that  must say), or other things that aren;t all too good for the saltlevel.

What else happened here this week? All was kind of very quiet, I must say and I am glad for that. I did find a bit of time to design on the computer, did some things in the house(I should do some more to be honest, but I am lazy, or perhaps it isn;t exactly lazy but more lack of enough energy to do it for a longer time, I can manage scrubbing and such things for perhaps 15 minutes, may be up to half an hour, but then I really need to sit down for a moment to kind of recover. I hate it from myself but it I don;t do that, I will pay the price the next day or days, I know it). well, I am hoping for a quick return of better weather, because that helps me with my energy, it really does!

So wonderful one of my more favourite programs is back again on the BBC, Gardener's World. It started last Saturday, and it gives you new inspiration for this years gardening again. I just saw in the program a guy with his garden, he "made"all by himself. It was just a real small garden, he had two parts, one of 20x20 feet(about 6x6 mtr) and one of 20-30 feet (6x9). well, that isn;t realy much is it? But he made it into a lovely place, with lots of tropical plants in it, with large leaves and lots of flowers, just wonderful!
Oh, i was looking on the BBC website if I could find something showing this garden, but I have something better. I have his own website! So if you like to see something nice, from someone with a real passion, just take a look!

Today I have some more clusters from Arlene for you, this time made with the A Tiny Tale kit. And they are lovely as ever.
Wishing you all a wonderful and safe week, till next week!

I just couldn't get into my account!

Goodafternoon everybody!

Finaly I managed in some way to get into my account for Blogger.
it took me quite some time, and it isn;t a good thing for my peace of my nerves LOL.
But for now I am there.
Starting with the weather : Today it is gloomy, with wind and rain, all grey and not nice at all.
It is quite a change after the few fantastic days we had with great temperatures and lots of sunshine.
Still we cannot really complain. nature also is in a kind of speed.
We have a blackbird again and it is very busy with making a nest in our ivy! That is nice, but now we cannot do muc h about cutting it back. Oh well, that little part we will just have to leave it as it is and when(and for all if)there will be youngsters, we will have to wait till they fly out.

This week Jan had to make an echo (he has them about two times a year), doctor there already told him it looked good. He has no fluid in his belly(great thing!) and everything was miore or less as it should be.
More detail, if there is, he wil get from his doctor in hospital when he visits her this Wednesday.
So on the health side it goes rather well with us, my tummy stil has at times playing time but so much less than earlier, so I just have to keep calm(hahahaha, that is a good one!!!!) and that will help too.
Jan always has some trouble with his back, sometimes really annoying, other times it just is there. Nothing to do about that.
Friday he felt rather good, so he did a little job, closing some spots at the window, where draft came through. He also did a little repair job in the kitchen, it needed somewhere a new slat of wood. And one one the kitchen door outside too( last week I had to clean the underpart of that door outside and suddenly held hald of the old slat in my hand, completely rotten).
Glad all that is done. doesn;t sound much, but it takes time and has to be done some time.

Yesterday I went to the market, just for really a quick visit, but the "quick"you can forget. I took the tram on the way to it and just that tram had to take a detour, coudlnt; go to the market. Damn, so i had to leave the tram in city centre. Just in time I could check out with my public transport card, otherwise I shoud have been force to go to customer service. And that it sometimes complicated.
Hoorraay, at least that wasn;t necessary, so took another tram direction market and arrived there after some delay. I did my shopping and walked home.
As I came home I saw we had a visit from Jan's brother. of course nice to see him again, but somehow he manages to come along when i have things planned to do(and also just when Jan is busy with some DIY jobs) LOL!
So a couple of things I'll do tomorrow.
Today I I just made already the meat(stewed meat) for dinner and potatoes and veggies are prepared to be cooked when dinner time is there.

We have lots to watch of sports this weekend. There are World Championships
of track cycling and although we don;t watch everything of it, some diciplines of it are interesting and the more as we have good cyclist, with the men as well as with the women. We already have several gold medalists and some silver too.
Then there is also the World Championship of the All round speed skating(competitors have to race 4 races, 500 mtr, 1500 mtr,  3000 mtr and 5000 mtr  for women and 500 mtr., 1500 mtr., 5000 mtr and 10.000 mtr for the men.
Today is the second and last day of it(it is in Calgary, Canada) so this evening we will see if we can manage to have some medals and perhaps even a world champion. It is a very exciting championship, they are still so close to eachother, anything can happen.

Well, not much more to tell, I think.
Better I finish now and perhaps I will take a cup of tea after leave you here.
Today I have a small download for you, but ever so pretty. A cluster and a quickpage from Arlene, made with the Idyllic day kit.
Have a lovely week and try to stay safe.

Blogger acts a bit weird ?????

Goodafternoon everybody,

I had a remark that the link on my last post wasn't working. I looked in to it and found a strange thing happened in the post, suddenly a part of the texte was on white background with larger space between the lines.
Well, I don;t know exactly what I did, but it seems normal again, I put again the link, as I can see it should work. Probably it wasn;t Blogger at all, but just me.
And as I was working on that I changed the layout of the blog.
It is very white, but still looks nice, I think.
Whatever, it is a change and I like it for the moment LOL.
Hopefully all is in good order now again.
Have a great day.

Good news about the tummy.

Goodmorning everybody!

Our weather is getting better and better again. Yesterday we reached around 12C in the early afternoon, tomorrow we even might get to 15 or 16C!
Together with little wind it should feel great. It will only be for one or two days, later this week temperature will fall agaun a bit to perhaps 10 or11C.
Still not bad for this time of year.
For now it looks lovely outside, almost only blue sky, and sunshine!!!
Our seedlings and everything in the garden is loving this weather, everywhere you see fresh green leaves appearing, all kind of bulbs come out of the soil and if weather stays kind of steady, perhaps sooner as expected we will have some flowering, how lovely that will be.

So last Wednesday Jan and I went to the appointment in hospital for the results of the checks and it all was real good. The doctor and team couldn;t find anything wrong, I only have a little diaphragm rupture(was already last time I had a gastroscopie), but according to the specialist there is no need to take action. I will have a check-gastroscopie again in 3 years time.
If I have again very much trouble of course i have to go to my doctor.
So I think I can be relieved, I take my medication and as long as that helps good enough, I can be happy. May be in some time I can ask my doctor if it could be wise to try to take a bit less of the medication. We'll see about that.
At least I have much less trouble with the tummy and the gastric acid.
Already happy with that.

When I was done at the hospital I phoned my friend Heidi, to ask if she was home, so I could visit her for a moment(she lives very close to the hospital). But she said to me it probably wouldn;t be wise, becauise all 3 of them were having the flu!!!
So yeah, I agreed with her and Jan and I went home. I will phone her tomorrow to hear how they are doing, poor souls.
I soo hope Jan and I will be spared from the flu, we had our vaccination, but that doesn;t mean you cannot get it, you only will be not so ill from it.
I truly think that we had our share of trouble the last two years, so we could do with some time without any illness or healthtrouble of any kind.

I did manage to make you a new kit for this week. It is rather hard you know to make a new kit every week.  I told you already I don't spend as much time at the computer as I did a few years ago. And if I am having some computer time I spend it not only on designing, but I have to follow a few blogs, sometimes sned out an email or two or such things, or do some research on things that need to be settled for our retirement etc.
However I will try to keep up with the kits, LOL.

Now i think I have to take a break, have a little sandwich or whatever to eat, may be take a short look in the garden as long as the weather is still nice, and then later this afternoon we will watch some speed iceskating, there are the World Championship Sprint and you know I love watching the skating.
Have all a wonderful and safe week!

Looks like springtime here!

Goodafternoon everybody!

Yes, it really looks and even at daytime it feels like a bit of Spring here.
We have sunshine, almost no wind and temperatures can go up to around 13-15C!!! Middle of this week it will drop a tiny bit, but it seems to go up again towards next weekend.

You can really see it in the garden, that temperature is going up(although at night we still have temps around zero!), everywhere I see sprouts of the bulbs coming up, snowdrops are blooming and it is such a good feeling! Hopefully we will not have a teriible weather dip in March or April!

Last Tuesday I went to the echografy and the doctor there told me right away he couldn;t see anything abnormal so that already was a relief! Now i have to go to the internist on this Tuesday to hear about the results of the gastroscopie. I still have at times a not nice feeling in the tummy area, but after a while it disappears again. So I have no idea what causes it, but it still is annoying to say the least.
Well, we'll know perhaps more in a few days.

I don;t know if it is because of the nice weather, but Jan suddenly became rather active. He washed the large curtains at the back and also cleaned the windows there(in and outside!). Wow, I was amazed(also a bit worried, because he has really to take care of his back, he must not strain his back too much!
But okay, he felt good about it. Then he also started to sow several seeds, some of them already are showing a tiny little thing of green above the soil!
Some of the pots in the mini greenhouses are already standing outside, because of the great temperatures at the moment. But also some of them are still in the room, they need warmer temperatures.
We;ll see how many of them will come to bloom. Every year it is a suprise.

Oh, I am proud of myself too! I made an important phonecall to the taxoffice, to get an answer for a question that could be important. Okay, it took me about 1 1/2 hour on the phone( can you believe that????), but at the end I got my answer, pfffffff. I must say that everybody I got on the line was very nice and helpfull in their own way. They only once ut me through to a completely unnecessary(read: wrong) departement but after some putting thourgh to different collegues I finally arrived at the right department and got what I wanted. I needed it for the taxes, and  now i could send all the papers to my accountant, which I did just yesterday!
Wow, now I only have to phone him next week, for a little thing and then the accountant can do his work. Whoopee!

I promised myself today a quiet day, and so it will be, LOL!
Still I did one more job today, and that was cutting Jan's hair. It was really needed, there was no coupe in it anymore, way too long and messy! Now he looks much better again.

I even managed yesterday to finish and upload a new kit for you. I named it Idyllic Day. And I hope to make another one this week, but somehow I seem to lack time and when there is some time for it I lack the energy, or inspiration. A problem which is difficult to solve, but we will, at a time, hahaha.
Time to end this post now and have a cup of tea I think.
Wishing you a wonderful week.

Here I am already

Hello you all!

Yeah, couldn't live with myself that I didn;t post the download yesterday. Might be silly, but hey, we have to go on and not backwards.
So after I did the grocerie shopping early afternoon I made the preview and uploaded the clusters from Arlene from the A moment of delight kit,so here they are.
Weather looks okay here, but outside it just doesn;t feel yet all too warm. Has to do perhaps with the wind coming from the wrong side.
Still the sun is shining and that's making up somewhat for the really fresh temperature.
Have a nice day, till Sunday.

Had the gastroscopie, don;t know yet much

Goodafternoon everybody!

I had the tummy check this Friday, but I don;t know yet much. Seems they didn;t find anything worrying, so no immediate action is necessary.
Still the doctor wants to do an echo of my belly or tummy, that will be this Tuesday and then  have an appointment for the doctor next Wednesday to hear about the results. Probably it all will be not too serious(so I hope), but as long as I don;t know something I feel restless and not at easy and the mind osn;t very peaceful and quiet. I am not really worried, but the not knowing exactly is giving me the restlessness. Must say that in general I have less trouble with the tummy, although it isn;t to usual yet. so we'll see what it is about next week.

Weather here isn;t too bad, although we had two days with almost storm(I don;t like that), today it is raining but next week we will have quieter weather, with even nice temperature of around 9-10C daytime, and more chance on sunshine too.
You can tell the weather is rather "soft", because the snowdropps are already blooming in the garden and for a week or two already we have bulbs that show their heads above the soil, most of them are daffodils.
Jan already started growing some seeds for coming Spring, we have two little greenhouses standing in the living room at the moment.
The seeds need some warmth so they stay in front of the radiator.
Some are already sprouting!!

I have bad news for you though. i didn;t found the energy to make a preview and download for this week from Arlene's clusters.
On top of it for two days suddenly my mouse seemed to have some working trouble, or perhaps it was to blame on Firefox, but every time after a little while my mouse wouldn;t move anymore, very annoying.
But I will try to do something about the download and may be post it later on in a tiny post.
Depends a bit on how I feel this week, if I can get over that restlessness, because I know that isn;t good for me, but what can I do about it?

I hope you all have a great week, and that everybody stays safe.

Finally tummy check is near.

Goodafternoon everybody!

First a bit about our weather. We had some snow, really just a bit, nights few degrees of frost, daytime just above zero. But.... this week, if all goes well, we might reach at daytime already around 7C and nights real cool but above zero too! Isn;t that wonderful?
And if you look well at the trees and bushes you might already see the start of buds and here and there a tiny, tiny leaf coming to life.

Yes, end of this week, on Friday, I finally  can go to hospital for the gastroscopie. Hopefully they find the issue causing this stomach trouble(although it is much less than some weeks ago). Of course we hope it is just a small thing and perhaps they can fix that, or tell me what to do, so I have less trouble. we'll see, cross fingers and have good faith. More we cannot do at the moment, LOL.

The same day Séverine, my friend Heidi's daughter, will have her birthday, she already will be 17 years old! Gosh, I still see her somehow as the little girl, that brought us our rings at our wedding!!
She will not have a big birthday party(perhaps next year when she will have 18), she liked to go out for a dinner with the grandparents and I can understand it. May be she will do something with her friends too, I don;t know.
so I don;t know if I can visit her(my appointment is at 11.45 morning), but I will send her at least a nice card and we'll see how it goes at the day.

We had a quiet week, all together, although there always happen things you aren;t waiting for, hahaa. For example a few days ago we had some trouble with the broadcast of the tv.  The images had a kind of hickup at times, or some stations didn;t show up at all. All not pleasant. During that day and evening it went from not nice to worse. First I though it might have something to do with our tv(it is almost a pensionado, but it has to hold on a bit, not yet really the money for a new one), but in the morning I called the company and there was a malfunction somewhere at the lines or the server. But later in the morning all worked again well, what a relief.

I am surprised at times, how customer-unfriendly some companies are!! I have a bankaccount at another bank than the one I have my day-to day stuff. I need an annual overview for the tax-declaration.
My usual bank just sends it to me somewhere in January, no problem.
he other, however not. So I called them to ask if they could send me a printed overview, because I have no working printer.
No, that wasn;t possible. The account was a on-line product and I could download a PDF with the overview.
"Yes, I know", I said, "but I just haven;t the possbility to print it out and I need it for my accountant, who does the tax declaration and I want to send him all papers in one batch". Well, I could speak long or short, they just didn;t want to do it. I wonder why it is such a big trouble??? On top of that they have the overview ready about the end of February(which is rather late). All the other things i need for the accountant I have together around latest half of February. Then I can send it to him and he can send the taxdeclaration stuff to taxoffice somewhere in March. How sooner you send it the sooner, if you're lucky, you have the return payment on your bankaccount(if it is done quick somewhere end of June).
Because of that stupid bank  have to wait for all longer than normally.
So I decided to change that account to my usual bank(if they have that special service for that more specialized account) as soon as possible. And if my own bank cannot do that, I will find another that is more customer friendly, I am sure! Can you gather that I am a bit pissed off???????

So we always have to deal with tiny or small issues during a week, some not so bad, some playing at times at your nerves, but it will all end well in the end(most of it does).

Then the nice thing was Jan's birthday this week. Thanks for the wishes for him. It was a normal day, but I made him a tasty meal, he had some birthday phonecalls from some friends and family, so all was well. Now we are again of the same age, till next year.
Unbelievable we are 66. Might not seem old to some of you, but for me it is a strange idea. It has to settle yet in my brain. As I said ofter, in the mind we feel still 20 years younger, but the body at times tells us other things, Quite annoying sometimes, but we have to deal with it in the best way we can, that's all.

Okay, not much more to ramble about, so time for the freebie. I have a kit for you, named it A Moment of Delight.
And I started already this week with a new one, so you see I am trying to keep up, LOL!
Have a wonderful week, stay all safe, because  saw that in some parts of the world the weather is really nasty.

We had some snow and cold here!

Goodafternoon everybody!

Oh, the snow and some ice finally arrived in our country, and do i tell you this with a big smiel on my face????? NO, NOT AT ALL!
But..... it didn;t last for very long. We had about two days of snow, not all too much, just a couple of centimeters(at least here at the coast) and some freezing nights.
However, yesterday and today the temperatures suddenly came up to around 6-7C, weven at night just no less than 5C! So that isn;t too bad.
Next week it will drop again a bit, but only at night it will be freezing around -3C, and at daytime temperature will rise above zero, to perhaps +3C, still not too bad.
Nasty thing is that later today in our part of the coast there might be quite a heavy storm for a few hours. I do hope it will not be too fierce and that it will blow not for a long time.
On the other hand we still shouldn;t complain too much, we didn't have really cold weather till now and almost no snowfall, quite different to e.g. Austria where they had snowfall in a few hours to around 2 meters high! And that for several days along!
And also in other parts of the world winter had knocked heavily on the door.
But I notice that with every year I get older, I am more against freezing and snow than I used to be.

This year lots of prices have gone up, and not with just a few euro, but with tens of euros. Like energy cost, for example. We pay a certain amount every month and they have raised it with around 33 euro's per month! That is quite a raise( and we still have to hope we will not use too much so that we don;t have to pay an extra amount when we get our year bill!) Then the government also raised the taxes with 3% on all kind of groceries, so mostly all the shopping you will be doing(and specially the daily or weekly things you need) will be more expensive, Then the health insurance has gone up with around 10-15 euro per month, and then I am not speaking about all kind of taxes of city council, provincial taxes etc.
Okay, government has lowered a bit the rate of the taxes we have to pay on our wages, but it will not help a lot. Here and there some wages have had a general raise of may be 1,5%,nice, sure, but not enough to pay for all the more expensive costs of living.
Government has the nerve to say that in general almost everybody will have a bit of money extra to spare at the end of the month!
But I am sure that it will not be so for a lot of people. The government have a counting model that says we go upward, but in that model they didn;t count in the council taxes, provincial taxes, lots of things more that had gone up in price.
Am I sounding too critical or even depressive? I don;t think so. I didn;t even mention the rents of houses and prices of houses. They have gone up enormously too.
So all together it will be hard for a lot of people to pay for it all.
Like pensions for the elderly, they don;t go up, they have been frozen already for several years, no index raise was done on them.
Yes, we live in a pretty good country, still, but the gape between the richer and really rich and the common man is getting wider and wider and that isn;t a good sign at all, to my opinion.
Good that is off my chest, now we can talk about other things LOL!

In fact, there hasn;t been much of a change here. Oh, Jan is feeling slowly better again, I don;t think he is up to 100% yet, but you know, as he isn;t talking much about his health or how he is feeling(which is making me mad at times ROFL), still going better is good.
I cannot complain at the moment too much about  my tummy, sometimes is is not nice, but it seems to go better slowly. You will see, by the time I have to go to hospital for that gastroscopie,  I will feel almost fine hahaha.

Tuesday my hubbie will have his birthday and then we both will be again the same age of 66!
We'll see what we will do that day, nothing too special but I will cook a nice meal I guess and perhaps have some tasty cake with our coffe in the evening.

I did find some time to do a bit of designing, still it is going slow these days. But as long as I do something, it is okay, I guess.
Today I have clusters from Arlene for you, made with the Floating on Dreams kit.
Wishing you all a lovely week, with not too much cold, or extreme heat, best of all try to keep safe and healthy.
Till next week!

There are some amazing artists around.

Goodafternoon everybody!

This morning I could sleep a bit longer, oh, it's a wonderful feeling after long times of not sleeping all too well, or just in kind of shifts LOL.
Then i watched a recorded episode of The Greatest Dancer from the BBC.
 https://www.radiotimes.com/news/tv/2019-01-20/what-is-the-greatest-dancer-everything-you-need-to-know-about-the-new-dancing-talent-show/
This link explains what is all about and how it works and you can also see some performances, if you like.
I love Strictly come dancing even more, but this also is a fantastic program and you are able to see some pretty talented people!

Then I took a nice shower and then prepared a bit of our dinner, I put on the washing machine and even did a little bit of ironing. After that I went out in the garden to leave some food for the birds and then I thought it was time to take it a while easy and so here I am!

The weather here has changed somewhat, it has become colder, at night we have (at the coast )around 3-5C frost and at daytime just 2-3C in the plus. Yeah, we aren;t used to it anymore. But the good thing is that it is dry and we have some sunshine. may be one day later in the week there might be some snow, but they aren;t sure of it.
Well, the snow can stay away for me!

I managed to do one necessary phonecall concerning our state pension. I forsaw that it would take a long time, mostly waiting on the phone, but i was ever so lucky. I was through in one ot two minutes and the person helping me was ever so nice and all was settled in a few minutes. Sometimes we still can be lucky, hoorray!

I am receiving in the post already every now and then papers I need for the taxes, I have a folder where I put them all in so I cannot forget one. Still I think I must make a phonecall to one bank to ask if they can send me the annual statement for the taxes.  have one bak that does it automatically, but the other might think we can go on line and print it out for ourselves. Of course that is a possibility. But as I have no working printer at the moment and a very lazy laptop, I want to ask me to sent it to me on paper. Shouldn;t be such a difficult thing for them, hey? Some however aren;t too willing to do so. We'll see how it goes.

Somewhere this week in a program I cannot remember anymore, I saw some amazing work of an artist, who is making, among other things, portraits with tulle fabric. I was in awe! I have two links for you where you can see for yourself what amazing work this guy is making.
His name is Benjamin Shine, a London artist. Never had heard of him before, but it really love the work he makes and it is so difficult!
Take a look for yourself:

https://www.fineprintart.com/art/the-fabric-portraits-of-benjamin-shine

All this week I tried to take some time for me to do some designing.  managed to make a new kit and started on a new one. It is going not really quick, but at least I am back into designing a bit.
I also like to do some games when at the computer, simple ones like a card game or a mahjong. It is so relaxing! Then sometimes do some blogreading, and an hour has gone in a flash!

Talking about going in a flash, I should finish this post now, the laundry is waiting for me, and after that I would like to relax some more, okay??
I have a new kit for you, Floating on Dreams. Hope you like it.
Wishing you a marvellous week and stay safe!

Sorry for not checking the blog!

Hello eveyone!
Just now I noticed that my last post wasn;t published!
So there is nothing to worry about, just perhaps Blogger, or may be me not being accurate enough, was to blame.
Good, hope all is okay again,
I'll be there Sunday, if all is well.

A year older, do I notice??? Not really!

Goodafternoon everybody!

I am aweful late today, it's already late afernoon.
First I woke up late, then I did some housework in between watched sport on tv, speedskating spring and also allround EK Championship.
Plus also EK Championship short track skating.

We did well, so it was a good day for Dutch speed skating lovers.

Weather here is kind of dull and grey, rather cloudy most of the time, now and then some rain, some days with stronger wind, even one day almost stormy, but temperatures are okay , just around 6-8 C.

My birthday was a nice day, nothing really special, but just nice, some sweet telephonecalls, a few cards, we had a nice dinner and when we had our coffee a bit after it, I had a yummie piece of cake.
So I am a year older, not that I really notice. As usual in the head I still feel something like in the 40's, but there I also know that I am not and my body tells me the same LOL!
Rest of the week went by quietly, there isn;t really much to tell.

I fear this is all there is to tell, sounds very boring, but there are happening enough little things, only I don;t think they are all really worthwhile to write about, or may be I just forget about some of them.
Hopefully I will have a more interesting post next week.
I do, however, have a download for you Clusters from Arlene, made with the Joie de Vivre kit.
Oh, before I forget, thanks for the nice birthdaywishes, you are so nice to me.
Gosh, it is already almost time to go to the kitchen to prepare our dinner, yes, that late it is.
Have a wonderful week, stay safe.

Nearer to be a pensionado this year!

Goodafternoon everybody!

First of all I want to wish everybody a wonderful and happy New Year!

Our New Year's Eve was just quiet but so cozy, we enjoyed some good tv, and at midnight the temperature wasn't too bad so we did go just a step outside our door to watch some of the firework.
And some neighbours wished us a happy New Year, always nice, isn;t it?

The new year's day we, as more or less tradition, watch the new Year's concert from Vienna. it's so nice, not too difficult music, some wonderful views of Vienna and some of the buildings, having our morning/lunch coffee and just being lazy!

we already started this week to put away some of the Christmas decorations. We just left the tree and the manger, because today is the holiday of the 3 Kings, that visited the new born Child.
So tomorrow we will do the rest into the boxes, and all will look as usual again. Also have done a stash of laundry of all the Christmas throws and doilies, plus some usual laundry too.
In a way it is nice to have the room back to "normal", but I also will miss it for a little while. Most of it the little Christmaslights, they give such a warm light and look great. May be  I will hold back a little string of lights and put them e.g. on the wooden shelf at the fireplace. It is kind of a dark place in the evening, so that might be an idea.

And then on Tuesday I will have my birthday, oh boy, I will reach the age of 66! Jan will have his birthday 3 weeks later, and then we will have to hold on for another 4 months and then....... we will have our state pension(with some pension we built up during our working days).

Oh, I can't wait till that day will come.

Weather here is a bit boring, but not too bad. At least we don;t have frost and snow and for that I am already grateful. Still we have some tricky months ahead of us, January, February and March can have very strange weather. Just when it looks that Spring is around the corner suddenly there could be cold, frost and snow. I really hope we will be spared of that! Good thing however is that we are getting longer daylight. I hate it to wake up in the morning and it is still dark. Okay, at the moment it still is darkish around 8 o'clock in the morning, but every week it will be better. I think it gives you more energy when you wake up and it is light and, even better, the sun is shining!

This week I even managed to make a little kit for you. I named it Joie de Vivre (Joy of Living).
Hopefully I will be able to make another one this week. I have some things to do that have priority, some phonecalls to make to city council, tax office and such and fill in some forms. All to do with the upcoming state pension. Pfffff, you know they have all information, but still you have to fill in forms with everything the same things. Frustrating sometimes!

Good, I must look at the washing machine, think the laundry will be ready. Just have to hang it out to dry and in one or two days I will do the ironing and I can put away a lot of things.
Then for the rest of the day I will do not much anymore, LOL.
Our dinner is easy,  yesterday I made us a big pan of soup(with brown beans, potatoes, vegetables and smoked sausage) and there is enough left to have another meal today. Great planning, Kyra!hahahaha.

Have a wonderful day and week ahead.
