Sad news to share

Goodafternoon everybody!

In general, we are doing allright, I think. For now we have better weather to enjoy, which is always nice,

But yesterday we had a sad day. we lost our cat Brodski, who is now playing on the rainbow with his brother Dikkie Dik.
Brodski wasn;t doing so well the last few weeks. Didn;t eat very much, got skinnier and skinnier. Now he often had periods in his life that he didn't eat too much and got a little bit more "streamlined.
But this time it was different.
Then I couldn;t support it anymore and said to Jan we had to go to the vet with him.
Brodski was around 17 years old, so I think the years got to him and I didn;t want him to get really ill and have pain so yesterday afternoon the vet gave him the injection so he could sleep forever.
It is always sad to say goodby to your pet, especially when you had him for so long. But he went quietly, on my lap, and he had a good life with us.
He will be missed, it was a presence in the house and we lost that.
So it is "Goobye Brodski".

Have to close now, typing is a bit hard with tears in my eyes. Can't help myself for it. Oh, it will pass and soon Jan and I will be able to talk again about him and his special character and moments that were full of laughter.

Kyra, I am so sorry for your loss. Brodski was so beautiful and such a wonderful companion, and I know you will be missing him terribly. It's so hard when our beloved fur babies pass over to the Bridge. May your Brodski rest in peace.

I'm here if you need me. Hugs, Edna B.

Kyra, my sympathies for the loss of Brodski. My cat Mrs. Beasley is 15 years old this year and I'm dreading the day that I have to make that choice also. It will be hard to do but we must think of their quality of life if we don't. Saying a prayer for you and knowing Brodski is over the Rainbow bridge waiting for you is a small comfort.

So sorry to hear of the loss of your 4 legged family member. When pets leave us it always leaves a hole in our hearts and I really feel for you. Like you I also believe that when their quality of life lessens and there's no treatment then it's time for them to cross the bridge. Enjoy the rainbow Brodski.

I'm so very sorry to read of your loss. I am a true "Cat Person" and it broke my heart when my last cat passed away a few years ago. He was 16 years old so your cat truly lived a good long life.

The cat I have now, Max, is three years old. He is just as dear and precious to me.

We sure get attached to our pets.

With sympathy and peace,
Mary Treusch

Hello Kyra, Thank you for the sad update. I know you will miss Brodski a lot. As you said, it is always so hard to say goodbye to pets, especially when you have had them so long. They really do become an important part of your family - in a way it is like losing a child when they go. Try to remember the happy times...

I am so very sorry Kyra. I know that he will be greatly missed. I replied to your comment on my blog but not sure that you got it. I know that this is a very hard time. Remember that there is no time limit on grief, so take the time that you need and know that he will never be far from your heart. My love to you and Jan. Rest sweet little Brodski. It is time for you to rest... all my love, Beth xxxx

So sorry to read about your cat. At at least he is not suffering. Our Sam seems to be going the same way. He has also lost some weight and doesn't want to touch his food sometimes. But I can so far always get him to eat a little more by giving him some fried chicken or Tuna. It's sad to see a beloved pet go that way. Big hugs and love from us here

Hi Kyra, I've been coming to your site every day to check p on you so to speak. Hope you are getting better. My little one is getting her prep don for the Spay surgery. I'm going in today with her stool sample so they can check for parasites. Hopefully none.
Keep doing whatever you can to get better. We all miss you out here in cyber land!

God Bless you
Corrine (aka: Grandma Sarge)

So sorry for your loss. We lost our last moggy nearly 4 years ago and not a day goes by that I don't miss him. He was nearly 20 and a rescue cat so very special. xx
