The world lost a great man!

Goodmorning everybody!

Yesterday evening the news hit the world, Mandela passed away.
It was bound to happen, because he already was ill for a long time, but still it is sad news.
Another icon isn;t around anymore, it was someone with great influence and importance to the whole world, and reaching his goal after a long battle.
I think we are a blessed generation to have known several great man, just as Mandela was.
I hope he will rest in peace!

We really had a severe storm yesterday late afternoon and through the whole evening. It made the water level coming up rather high, at one point even to 4,7 mtrs above normal water level.
At some places water came unto the streets, so I guess lots of people will have to clean their houses of cellars after the storm is over.
I was clever to go out in the morning, although the wind was blowing already severe. But I went to town centre and there you didn;t notice all too much yet from the wind. I came home with a load of packages with noodle soups from the Chinese supermarket LOL!
Oh, we were up rather early yesterday morning, because Jan would have the call from sickness benefit department. Most of the times the guy is on time, but yesterday it lasted and lasted, so after an hour Jan called himself. No point in sitting on the couch aiting till somebody might rememeber to make the call is there? Nothing special to tell about it, Jan explained his condition, and situation, if they want they always can check with his doctor, and Jan will certainly get a letter with confirmation of the call and probably another date, for or another call, or visit to the sickness benefit office again.

I arrived home just in time, because not much later it also started to rain, and with the wind blowing real hard, it surely wasn't nice anymore to be outside!
We did spent the afternoon in some lazyness, I must say, we both took a nap and it did us well.

Before posting my freebie i first have to tell you that Linda made an awesome quickpage with my Christmas with Cinnamon Smell kit. Just go to her blog HERE and download it for free, not without leaving a littl thanks of course!

But today we really will start with the Christmas decorating. I think we will not be able to finish that in just one day, but hopefully by Sunday evening most of it will be done.
One of the time consuming things will be the lights on the ceiling, I guess.
So probably I will not spent all too much time at the computer this weekend, but I prepared a little bit of "stock" for this case. Why not continue these weeks downloads in Christmas spirit? Well, that is easy said, cause I almost don;t have any other kits at the moment LOL!
This time a Christmaskit in a bit more traditional colors I suppose, named Happy Holidays.
3 great clusters from Arlene as finishing touch.

Have a wonderful weekend!

As always, your Christmas kits are gorgeous. I heard about the bad weather going your way yesterday, and was so hoping that none of the flooding would be near you. We had a bit of light rain, but the temperature was warm, in the 50's F. This morning it is 56F, and we are expecting rain again.

Kyra, you be careful going out in the bad weather. As we get older, we have to be more careful. Hopefully Jan will be able to stay home during most of the bad weather season.

The workmen are already here this morning. At the rate they are going, the work will be done soon. Woo Hoo! Now I'm off to make some breakfast. You have a wonderful day, hugs, Edna B.
